I have been thinking this ever since I watched his highlights when he was signed as an undrafted free agent. Could you imagine what could be if he somehow not only moved to running back but took over as the starter. Could you say mismatch all over the field. He is built like a running back, breaks tackles with his strong lower legs and could line up all over the field. I would love to see him get a shot at running back.

"Sources said that Goodley didn't grade out as draftable," writes Charlie Campbell of BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1. "They felt that his skill set didn't translate to the NFL. One source said, 'I don't like my wide receivers to be built like fullbacks.' That was an obvious exaggeration, but the 5-foot-10, 209-pound Goodley is much thicker than most NFL receivers while also being on the short side."
I don't think many coaches want quarterbacks built like fullbacks yet Tim Tebow gets chance after chance after...

In my opinion, this scenario involving Goodley would effectively negate Dunbar's offensive value. I think McFadden's presence subtracts plays from Dunbar already. Goodley would take away more of Dunbar's opportunities. There are only so many touches within a running back by committee and only so many active roster slots. Can Goodley impress the coaches enough to supercede Dunbar?

Only if Geoff Swaim is blocking for him. :)

The thought of converting him to rb did cross my mind when we first signed him. If it happens, people will need to be patient cause it will most likely be a 2 year project before he sees any carries imo. I do think he has the body for it though.

Also, anyone know how he's been doing in the otas and mini camp? Haven't heard his name mentioned at all. I figured he'd at least be mentioned in the mix as a returner but not a peep.

Lance Dunbar is more like Percy Harvin than Goodley, IMO.

They can call Goodley a WR or RB while he is on the practice squad. It does not really matter.

Can he tackle a returner or return a punt?

The rest is trivial.
