Not too jazzed about the draft this time around

Last year I set aside both days to sit and watch the draft. I was passionate about who we should pick and watched with bated breath. This year I have a bunch of stuff planned for tomorrow...I forgot it was even draft day until I came to the site here to peruse the board. No players jump out at me this year...maybe because I don't see a glaring hole on our team. Anyone else feeling like me on this?

Nope. I plan to sit in front of my computer and television watching ESPN & listening to the Ticket so I can hear all the latest draft news/picks and focus on Cowboy picks, discussions with those scouts who followed them around and their position coaches. We may not have starter positions which must be filled asap, but we must 3-4 quality players who can become starters very soon and upgrade those positions. Hopefully one of these players might even turn out to be a playmaker.

That's me too. Last year when I went to the Draft I slept a total of 7 hours between 3:00 am on Thursday and Midnight Sunday. I was simply too wired to sleep.

You know what I would do with out the draft?

Well I would collapse, I would draw the shades and I would live in the dark, I would never get out of my slath pad nor clean myself, my fluids would coagulate, my cone would shrivel, and I would die miserable and lonely. The stench would be great.

No glaring holes? Wow. You would think this team had actually won a playoff game in the last decade. I guess the Cowboys were the best 9-7, 5th seeded, wild card losing team in NFL history last year, seeing that they have no weaknesses at all. Come on.

Key word being "glaring" Doom. There are certainly holes, but not the glaring variety. You have to keep the adjective in there.

I'm contemplating taking a ambien to put me out early tonight. If I don't, I might not sleep. It reminds me of the way i felt before christmas as a child. If I could pass out until noon tomorrow, I would. I'll probably end up waking around 7 or so...and freak out for five hours.

the only advantage of working during draft day, no time to worry about the time that elapses between pick #1 and 22

did I say that was the only advantage?;)

True story. Last year I had a dream the night before the draft that Jerry had traded away all the draft picks for Matt Schaub. I remember waking up not even caring that we may have gotten a decent QB for the future. I was just pissed that I had nothing to look forward to in the draft now. lol.

I love the draft and will be in front of the tube, switching between NFLN and Especially Stupid People Network, Brand new Laptop at hand tuned to the Zone and breaking in the refresh button.

Got my pasta salad already made in fridge, 12 pack of Squirt soda getting cold and the BBQ hamburgers ready to go.

I love these two days.

So no, I don't feel like you, but to each, his own!

I don't know what it is, but I agree. Usually tomorrow involves 10 hours + of NFL Draft coverage. I planned things for tomorrow and didn't bother nor care to change them. I've made sure I will be tuned in from about pick 15 to Dallas' pick, but last year I watched every pick in the first round +. I don't know what it is...:(

Sounds like you really know how to have fun.
