Cameron Wake is one of the best pass rushers in the league. Hopefully it will be a learning experience for Tyron and he will get better from it.

How many years does JG have to run the offense with pretty much the same core group of players before they start to run the offense efficiently? 1 rookie, 2 second year players and the rest have been running this scheme for a while now, yet it is the same sloppy, penalty ridden team we see every year. I get there will be physical battles lost, but all the same mental mistakes over and over, year after year are a whole other story.

We are only about halfway through the process.

That was a horrific offensive showing in Miami. The team under Garrett continues to have zero identity even given pieces with which to forge one.

If the Offensive Line plays like that- it's a wrap. It played very well against Baltimore (some run-blocking issues) but Romo had plenty of time to throw it around and there were occasional gashes in the run game which gave encouragement that the offense would be fine as a whole.

Now I'm seeing Tyron and Free regress, the running game can't get push and Tony is on his back 4x in the first half. What is up with Tyron? He inks a 100M dollar deal to simply push back for one or two seconds on his matchup or grab and tug sideways?? No sir- that won't get it done. All the manhandling of opponents happens in our TC and not on the field against opposition it seems so far. Break someone else's ankle ffs.

.

Wow...really?

Watch the video of the first half and you will see Lance Dunbar whiff on two stunt-blitz plays. Mackenzy was free to pick up the inside move on the first one but thought he should help triple team Miami's 1 tech. The guy was blind on the play.

Way overblown and overly dramatic on the post. The offensive line minus Mackenzy and Dunbar were very solid against a very good D-Line.

You never heard that a bad dress rehearsal foretells a good opening night?

I was talking about this same thing, last year, with a former cowboy who played with Garrett. He said Garrett has always been the smartest guy in any room type and thought he was just out thinking himself most of the time.

oh - em - geeeeeee

pre-season peeps....and, while I trust people's comments to a degree since I didn't have access to the game, I believe dallas was up 20-11 before scrubs lost the game? who cares about the final score...why not focus on how the defense played well enough to only give up 11 until implosion took over...there are 3 units on the team and I also understand that the return team did well? So, defense was ok, st's was ok, the offense looked sluggish, did I sum it up? you won't see starters now until week #1, so please, everyone, get your paranoia in now before the season starts.....

I wonder if all the "it's preseason" chanting would be occurring if the OL blew Miami's DL off the ball all night and there were 2 Romo to Bryant TDs.

Probably not.

This happens every year. And then the same problems that happen in pre-season gets carried over to the regular season. Nothing changes.

I dunno about you fellas, but -- I'll be dialing my expectations down to a low setting going into the regular season. In so doing,
anything above and beyond that would be gravy. Enjoying football becomes impossible whenever expectations are overblown.

I don't have expectations of 35 pts/game or anything, but once the 1st teamers are in there consistently, I think they will be fine...I just don't buy into the notion that the pre-season games mean anything (good or bad)...there are no teams that show everything that is up their sleeve....thus, I am patient and will wait to see what the offense has against SF...already have the jar of popcorn ready to put on the stove....

Put your sirens away. It's pre-season. There is no game plan. It's like practice with the intent to score. You practice different set ups and test young talent in different set ups. Don't panic yet. Not that I expect us to be SB bound by any means but, I wouldn't take too much away from pre season other than, our defense is still awful.

If holding an opponent to 3 points in a half is awful, then I hope they're awful all season.

I was shocked about the OL but maybe I shouldn't have been. One thing I learned under Garrett is rarely does all aspects of the Cowboys play well at the same time. The defense although they weren't that great did create turnovers and held the starters to 3 points. When the defense plays like that, the offense usually struggles. When the defense plays awful the offense is great. When you have a 20 point lead, both break down.

Or you could have just understood that the Dolphins front 7 is really good.

I think we just need to not worry about anything and just sit back and relax and watch the Dallas Cowboys play football.

Football season is upon us. Enjoy it.

Unfortunately this isn't possible for those who hinge their livelihood on sporting events.

Either way, I agree with you completely.

It's not whether you have fun or not, it's winning that matters.

You know what buddy, the Cowboys can post a losing record and I'll still watch and cheer. But the moment I stop having fun will be the moment I find a new hobby. Being a football fan is supposed to be fun. Try and enjoy yourself.

Its preseason stop thinking so much

Remember a few years back we got our butts whooped in week 3 of the preseason against the texans and everyone was thinking they were going to absolutely destroy us at the beginning of the regular season? Well we ended up destroying them.

It's preseason. Yes there are a lot of things to worry about, but you can't worry too much in preseason. Wait until the season starts before we start nitpicking everything about this team.

You should be discouraged. This is going to be one of the five or six worst teams in the NFL and finish with a record in the 5-11 range. Every positive on this team is wholly mitigated (and then some) by a negative.
