Or you could have just understood that the Dolphins front 7 is really good.

That's absolutely true and why in the regular season you gameplan for teams with fronts like theirs. In the preseason you basically line up and let your Oline try to muscle up with them. Ours falied - lesson learned.

Anyway, if Dez and Murray play the last series of the first half when we were driving we score a TD and everyone is feeling good about a 7 point halftime lead with 1s vs 1s. Street and Dunbar came in for them and made the formation penalties that ended the drive in a FG.

Tyron had 1 mediocre preseason game and now the sky is falling, i swear this fan base just wants to be miserable about something. My only complaint was that it looked like Garrett was using his playbook instead of Linehan's, because that looked a lot like our talented but underachieving offense we've come to know and hate. 2 of those sacks were on Romo and they didn't even try to throw the ball down field.

I think it's easy to look at it that way, people freaking out over one preseason game.

However, I think it all stems from the fact that it's always something with this team. The only thing I can say, "Hey, we addressed that issue and can move onto something else" is kicking. I think a lot of us were hoping the offensive line would be item #2 on that list, I sure am.

So let me get this straight, Dallas starting defense who have been missing a number of starters basically shut out both Baltimore's offense and Miami in successive weeks yet we KNOW they will stink. On the flip side the offense has a bad half against a good defense and now your worried about them. Ok got it. Guess the sun doesn't ever shine where you live.

That was a horrific offensive showing in Miami. The team under Garrett continues to have zero identity even given pieces with which to forge one.

If the Offensive Line plays like that- it's a wrap. It played very well against Baltimore (some run-blocking issues) but Romo had plenty of time to throw it around and there were occasional gashes in the run game which gave encouragement that the offense would be fine as a whole.

Now I'm seeing Tyron and Free regress, the running game can't get push and Tony is on his back 4x in the first half. What is up with Tyron? He inks a 100M dollar deal to simply push back for one or two seconds on his matchup or grab and tug sideways?? No sir- that won't get it done. All the manhandling of opponents happens in our TC and not on the field against opposition it seems so far. Break someone else's ankle ffs.

I know there's little preparation for pre-season games but this looks like the same garbage we've seen for umpteen years. When will this team decide it wants to win ballgames? Penalty after Penalty after Penalty.

I'm putting this season on Garrett personally. This team shows life early or he's gone. I don't care about how shorthanded this defense is. It's his side of the ball (you know- the one where he's taken a step back and down so he couldn't screw up any further) that shows the most inconsistency in terms of performance week to week.

We know the defense is going to stink to high heaven, but this offense better be humming given the weapons and talent acquisition on that side of the football. If we lose ten games it better be because the other team scored 40 to our 30 each week. I'm so sick of Redball I want to puke even if it is the pre-season. This entire team needs a good punch in the face before SF, and hopefully this was it.

Practicing against a multiple all pro pass rusher day in day out conditions and prepares you.

Practicing against a rotation of question marks sure makes you look dominant in practice, but at what level of preparation for game day opposition?

Hit it right on the head, you just described the doom & gloom part of the fan base. Nothing will ever be right, nor will they ever be encouraged or admit things could go right.
Score a TD, but they did it in 18 plays not 3, they took too long, score a TD in 3 plays, but they did it without running the ball or taking time off the clock. Just their negative outlook.

To be fair, if you had cast your lot with the group you call doom and gloom, you'd have been right a heck of a lot more than wrong over the last 15 years.

Dallas has made the playoffs four times in the last 14 seasons. That's .286, not .500. If we miss the playoffs this season, it will tie the franchise record for most consecutive seasons without making the playoffs with five (tied with 1960-1964 and 1986-1990. This team, this franchise, is in the toilet and in no imminent danger of emerging.

You should be discouraged. This is going to be one of the five or six worst teams in the NFL and finish with a record in the 5-11 range. Every positive on this team is wholly mitigated (and then some) by a negative.

No we'll finish in the 7-9 to 8-8 range because that's who we are. We win just enough to have hope and then it's pulled out from under us.

If people took their eyes off the Cowboys for 1min and looked across the league they would see that this could be 1 if the worst years ever for the nfl.

I got news for you...Miami is going to be better than you think. On positive side, Dan Bailey hits from 52, 50 so if you play fantasy...you know what to do there.

They're the 3rd best team in their division..

Another record for the Jerry Jones ERA Cowboys (1996 to present)....Jimmy Johnson won Superbowls and Jerry's Cowboys embarrass with record poor performances......go figure... Jerry is the best salesman around, he is selling the fans a LOSING team while making more money than ever ($3.2Bil)......best business model around.....the fans cant get enough of this losing franchise....amazing

If you dont win the super bowl, i dont really see the difference.

That's the problem. If you compete for championships every year, it's a much more exciting season. You always have a chance. We did not win SB's every year when Landry was coach but we were contenders every year Maybe one year you can break through and win it. My Dad's a Raven fan and he's always looking forward to football season because his team matters and what do you know, they won 2 titles. It beats being mediocre every year. I've experienced both the highs and the lows of being a Cowboy fan and this is the worse I've ever felt. Even when we were bad in the late 80's and early 90's it felt like we were building for something.
