Now is the time

That isn't true. They can sign whoever they want including Hendrickson.
After the recent restructures, here is our cap today. This is the more generous of the two commonly cited cap tracking websites.

Total Cap Liabilities: $333,413,074
  • Top 51: $299,831,014
  • Team Cap Space: $222,896
    • Offense: $176,678,293
    • Defense: $119,390,271
    • Special: $11,350,333
This is before extending future years to Williams and Clark, restructuring Osa, Bland or Ferg (all risky decisions) or cutting any players.

It’s no secret that having a great season starts with having great off-season. We have now entered the most important period of off-season. NOW is the time when great off-seasons are forged. Not in July. NOW through May.

In the next few weeks, we will see if our front office is serious when they say this year will be different. It won’t happen at a bus press conference, a radio show or impromptu interview at league meetings.

Our off-season will 100% be judged by the action (or inaction) of our FO starting NOW. If they give us another hide out on free agency, taking few chances in trades or cuts, and take another medical redshirt in the draft, we will know nothing has changed.

If they finally take action on a plan to get better through wise and meaningful FA and drafting immediate help in the draft, that’s a good step forward. We will see very soon.

Now is the time. Not for talk or bus press conferences. NOW is the time for action.
For the 30th season....Stop buying the FOOLS GOLD. We all know Dallas is Goodwill shopping once again.
How many times does this have to be illustrated

Yeah every Cowboy fan has every right to say, “I will believe it when it happens.” That’s where I’ve been for years.

But it’s going to take a lot more than the words of the oldest and most talkative GM in NFL history to make me believe.

Hope and belief are two very separate things.
Good post Bob, it is time to build a championship team, a healthy DE Trey Hendrickson would be a good way to start. S Minkah Fitzpatrick, LB Tremaine Edmunds, CB Alontae Taylor looks to be a good nickel, let's get better.

Now is definitely the time, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that trading more picks for hugely paid vet players is the answer.

They have so many damn holes they need what little draft capital they have to hit, AND make significant use of FA.

Years of ineptitude aren’t going to be erased at once just because they’ve finally decided to actually try.
You haters have been clamoring for the Cowboys to play in top free agency. And now you’re poo poo’ing all over it? Unbelievable the lack of awareness.,

Don’t worry my friend. I’m a cancer survivor. Being a sports fan has never stressed me out. Certainly not the Cowboys.
Best way to be. I get stressed during the games sometimes but win or lose, I’m over it immediately.

Now is the time. However Jerry and family are currently on the yacht on their way to cabo

Fans: “You guys said “all in” and “bust the budget”. We want one ‘ribeye’, a ‘filet’ and a ‘NY Strip’.”

Schottenheimer, CP and Adams: “we hear you and that’s what we asked for. Jerry gave us his credit card and we went to the butcher. Unfortunately, all we could afford was some ‘flank steak’, an ‘eye of round’ and some ‘beef tongue’
Could very well be the case. Hope not.

The way the Christian Parker hiring was handled felt like something different so people are really hoping that signifies a *real* change.

The flaw in that is it is only one decision. And it only satisfies Jerry’s third most important “itch” - Being a “leader of men” and the “CEO Coach”.

The good news for us is that him giving in here was a relatively inexpensive “sacrifice” and as his third priority, it doesn’t directly touch the two things most important to Jerry

  1. Being as “Rich as Croesus”
  2. Being a “Talent Genius“
  3. Being the “CEO Coach”
When you start talking free agency, you get the double Jerry whammy. He wants to be a Talent Genius here, *but* it costs lots of money.

So, what he’s always done is to fallback to priority one, being Rich as Croesus. So, he cheaps out and just nibbles around the edges.

Then, when he gets to the draft, the choices are all relatively cheap! So, now, at last, he gets to have his “Talent Genius” fix. And, since he generally is mediocre at talent evaluation, and surrounds himself with sycophantic toadies, he often gets it wrong.

So, I fear that our “off season Super Bowl” was the hiring of Christian Parker and it’s downhill from here.

We’ll know by Friday one way or the other .

I'm going to give you my prediction based on what I believe is in their best interest. Part of this prediction is based on what another poster said, ShiningStar I believe.

The Cowboys will make a splash move, but that's it. It will sell jerseys, get everyone talking, and then business as usual. They'll go with the one move, draft picks, and bottom feeders to fill in the gaps. I don't think they're willing to spend the money it would take to overhaul the defense. In fact, my prediction will probably make them more money than what it would take to be a true contender.

Fish says they will sign 2 difference makers.

They are already on the boat. Idk why people expect anything
Yup
Next week - Yacht trip/dumpster diving
2nd week - Working on our "own" free agents/ letting the "market" settle
3rd week - honest offers to the named free agents left / finally sign someone.

Two impact players would be nice. But does Fish know this, or is it just wishful thinking because he knows the Cowboys could sign 2? I hope he's right. That would be fantastic.
