Per Wade. He said that's almost holding him back more than the foot now.

Not that he won't play because of it, because he will. But I hope this is minor.

Its probably because he has been favoring one leg over the injured one.

Sounds like the same thing I had in high school.

Doctor told me to take 10 days rest and ice it twice a day... it was gone completely after that.

It made it VERY uncomfortable to run.. anytime I put weight on my knees when they were bent it hurt.

why not just sit the guy out another week. if he is favoring his foot and now his knee....it can cause another injury because of all the compensating he is doing. I just want him to play in the NE game and then in the playoffs.

All I know is that all of these injuries are from overworking the area in question. Juraszek and Co need to reign him in or as he gets older its only going to happen more and more.

He should rest until Pats game.
Last week was a mistake IMO

He probably got it because he changed the way he was running due to the foot injury.

I've had it before and it's a PITA. It's especially bad after you stop doing your workout/game and it cools off. It got so bad with me I couldn't walk for 4-5 hours after my knee would cool down, and even then I would have to walk very gingerly.

This is gonna be a long year for Newman.

Edit: I got mine cuz I had pulled my hamstring. I wasn't walking/running normally (wouldn't let my leg straighten out all the way) and that's what brought it on.

i dunno. no one could predict what we'd do to the chicago D and we had to have our top game going. in retrospect, could we have done w/o? sure. but i think him playing in that game was huge at least in the mental makeup of our game.

I'm currently dealing with it also and it's just not fun. Going up any stairs can be a chore. If i keep my leg bent for more than 10-15 minutes it will start to hurt.

The Doc told me to keep stretching it daily and icing it at night. Also, strengthning the leg muscles also helps (i doubt TNew needs too much work on this).

I hear ya... but I have been on record for saying we should wait it out.... better to have closer to 100% TNEW for 2nd half of season than less now and less later

oh i can see you *not* wanting to take the risk, but i think henry and reeves felt better knowing he was there. maybe less pressure = 2 int's.

maybe not - just speculatin. but i think they put him in just right and with enough precautions to where we'll be ok. i get your point, i just think we should play him when ready or when we must. chicago was a must.

st louis sure doesn't look to be. esp after our D getting more and more confident.

I had this last year ..... it hurts but does not limit movement. There was very little swelling.

It went a way after a few weeks ..... if he wraps it .... it should be fine.

Hurts like hell when you are getting clothes out of the dryer though .... :p:

This is an injury that can get better with rest. If we can't beat the Rams and the Bills without him, something is horribly wrong with this defense.

He has a "tear"... I wouldnt chance it until the "tear" was pretty much healed.

If it was a sprain, strain or sore... then YES.

Stretching is really good for it too.

But isn't a sprain a form of a tear? :(

A sprain is a tear. There's just different degrees of a sprain.

Technically anyway.

I think if it's on a muscle, though, it's referred to as a "Strain" not a "Sprain".

Don't ask me why.
