How long until Drew Pearson gets into the hall of fame? Will he be just like Rayfield Wright and have to wait after his 25 years are up?

Drew really didn't have the sort of career that is going to get him into the hall -- he was a good receiver but not an elite one.

Drew Pearson should be a HOF'er. His numbers are better than the "great" Lynn Swann. Pearson was known as "Clutch". Anyone old enough to have seen the original #88 play knows he should be in Canton. Maybe Jerry will finally put him in Ring this year.

As for The Playmaker. I actually cheered when hearing he was selected. I wanted to jump up and give the ole' first down signal that Irvin made famous.

he's a HOF'er but won't ever get in - at least anytime soon.

he was dominant and his accident cut his numbers down. if you saw him play it was indisputable.

jerruh's omission from the ROH is evidence enough for the ignorant voters to keep him out.

nice job jerry ignoring the past.

So do we use the whine-o-meter for Drew like we do for the Monk backers?

Drew Pearson was my favorite player in the 70s. So you know how I feel about it.

Amen to that.
Drew has a better chance getting into the Ring of Honor than the Hall in my opinion. Just because of how politcal the voting process has become is why I say that.
Back in the 70's they didn't throw the ball like they do now and that hurts his chances too.

Good call.

I mean Drew was only on the All Decade Team of the 70's along with one other WR, Lynn Swann.....so if Drew was only a "good" WR I guess there were a lot of mediocre ones in the 70's according to your theory.

You can't use the worst WRs in the HoF as a yardstick.

How many times do I have to say this?

Yeah...I just wish there was something we could do.

I'd love to see Pearson in the ROH.

The all-decade team includes 4 WRs. Harold Carmichael and Paul Warfield being the others. Drew was a good receiver. He just wasn't an elite receiver. The all-decade team is nice but that isn't a ticket to being in the hall. Carmichael isn't in either.

I absolutely love Drew Pearson as both a player and a person. However, he's never getting into the Hall of Fame.
