Barber and Mendenhall

OR

Barber and Felix, with Choice providing depth for Barber

Thoughts?

It depends on which change of pace guy you add to Barber and Mendenhall.

If we lose MBIII after this year, our RB's will be "the homerun threat" Jones, backed up by a bruiser taken in the 4th round.
Hmmmm. Sounds familiar.

Kind of funny since Barber was a 4th pick kind of Ironic

Even if Mendenhall was selected, they needed another RB. Which is not the same as Barber and Mendenhall. So now, it makes sense they got Felix Jones.

But personally, I felt they should have takend Mendenhall if thats who was rated higher. But at the same time, you don't want your top two rbs being the same type. Too much predictability for the Defense.

this is not a fair question. you do not know who else the cowboys would have gotten in the 4th round, had they drafted mendenhall instead of jones.

they went for the home-run w/ FElix

and protected themselves later so that the home-run isn't put into a role he's not suited for, as a 20-25 carry a game back, if Barber goes down

savvy, savvy, savvy

Why is it so hard for people to understand this?

It's close but I have to lean towards the latter because jones is more versatile than mendenhall: you can split him out wide, put him in the slot AND he can return kicks. Choice is insurance against MB3 getting hurt or asking for crazy money IMO. He won't see too much of the field in '08.

I'm happy with how things turned out, but if the Cowboys added Mendenhall and Steve Slaton, that would have looked very nice today too.

Because no matter what happens..........some people think they know better then everyone else.

I'm still salty about not picking Mendenhall, I'm not gonna get over that. Hopefullt Felix can make me change my mind but I think Mendenhall was the much better player.

You don't draft people to be back-up's in the first round, you draft the best available and that was Mendenhall IMO.
