Hmmm.....I had no clue
You realize it's very very early, yes?So far the only team to show interest
I think he will go to the highest bidder, whether as their head coach or DC. Why else would they be spreading rumors that the Cowboys are interested in him? It’s to drive his price up.It will be interesting to see if he even takes DC interviews.
So far the only team to show interest is Baltimore, whom he interviewed with this week. The Ravens have the best opening available so there will be a lot of competition
Last year he interviewed with the Jets and Jaguars but wasn’t hired.
I’m afraid the league may be showing, again, their hesitancy to pursue Flores due to his lawsuit.
No one should be surprised if he just re-ups with the Vikings should the Ravens select someone else.
It has always been a longshor that Jerry, of all people, would be interested in someone who refused to tank games or tamper with players when commanded.
The Dolphins owner and the team were disciplined (fines and draft picks) by the league for both, but not until after they fired Flores, which resulted in the law suit.
Every team has scheduled, or completed, a minimum of four interviews. What are they waiting for?You realize it's very very early, yes?
I'll be surprised if he's not hired as HC for some team. He's almost certainly going to get interviews. If DAL wants him, they're going to have to wait it out, and at the peril that they lose out on some other candidates while they're waiting.
Please bring him in!!! I would love that.Hmmm.....I had no clue
I think you are right.....this chart says it all IMO. Only one request sends a statement IMO....Every team has scheduled, or completed, a minimum of four interviews. What are they waiting for?
The one candidate without any interviews is Harbaugh, because he will pretty much have his choice of jobs, but his agent has already fielded calls from more teams than there are with openings.
Flores may very well be hired as a HC. I think he deserves it. I’d love to have him as the Cowboys DC.
He may get the Ravens job, but so far they are the only team to try to schedule him.
I just think it’s rather foreboding that for all the respect he has, there hasn’t been more interest around the league in hiring him as a head coach.
These are a bunch of old billionaires and he’s coming for their money. Don’t think that for many of them that’s not a hard stop.

I hope I’m not. And, it only takes one team to pull the trigger.I think you are right.....this chart says it all IMO. Only one request sends a statement IMO....
It's a tough call for both him and the league.
Honestly, after re-reading the lawsuit, I'm not sure he will ever get another NFL Head coaching job. For one, he wasn't that good when he had the opportunity but his defensive scheme is top-shelf, right there with Fangio. That's his biggest attraction to any/most teams. Notice they are starting notice his mentors or former assistant coaches.I hope I’m not. And, it only takes one team to pull the trigger.
I kinda doubt he and Jerry are a good match though.
Everyone knew this because his DC contract ends when the NFL season ends after the Super Bowl.Hmmm.....I had no clue
It's no secret that Flores wants a HC job, not a DC job, and he may feel that talking to teams about their DC position or resigning with the Vikings as their DC might impact the chance of that happening because teams may overlook him (disclaimer: not because he couldn't accept a DC job then take a HC job since everyone knows that is always available to him and does not require permission).Every team has scheduled, or completed, a minimum of four interviews. Yeah, there’s no reason for him to go anywhere if he doesn’t get a HC job. Vikings are highly motivated to keep them so he may just be making them sweat to get more money while the checks the HC market. It's no secret that Flores wants a HC job, not a DC job, and he may feel that talking to teams about their DC position or resigning with the Vikings as their DC might impact the chance of that happening because teams may overlook him (disclaimer: not because he couldn't accept a DC job then take a HC job since everyone knows that is always available to him and does not require permission).
I am sure he (or his agent) is viewing it as a perception problem and he is leveraging the media attention his name "being in the mix for HC/DC for <insert_team_here>" provides.
Even if he doesn't get a HC offer (which he should), it's a smart move for him to wait because playoff teams may lose their DC coaches who leave to become HC somewhere else and if that happens, he might be able join a better team if he has to settle for being DC again.
Dolphins were spanked for tampering with Brady, there was never any spanking related to tanking. It will be interesting to see if he even takes DC interviews.

We interviewed his right hand man yesterday. Daronte Jones is a pretty interesting option as wellWe need to interview him. Just to see if there's any hope of getting him as the next DC. I'm not so sure how good of a teacher he's going to be. But man, he gets results.

This^^^^^^ I'll be happy with Leonhard but this guy is now my first choice. We interviewed his right hand man yesterday. Daronte Jones is a pretty interesting option as well
Did some lurking on a popular Vikings forum and their fans seem to be really worried that Jones might take a DC job while Flores still waits and they really want Daronte to his backfill.
Not only has he worked under Flores, but also Vance Joseph and Marvin Lewis, all really good Defensive coaches.
I’m hoping he can be there for us if Leonhard doesn’t work out
Wasn't aware of his full background. Ty for the info. More I learn about this guy I think maybe he's a great choice. I also think he'd be perfectly fine not being a hc for a few years. Karl Scott is another guy very much like him, in Seattle. I'd be fine with either. I'm not dug in on any of the bigger name candidates out there like many seem to be.We interviewed his right hand man yesterday. Daronte Jones is a pretty interesting option as well
