Nugget: Flores can officially talk to other teams about the DC role starting next Wed

He's a .500 head coach with no playoffs in his brief stint in Miami. He has earned another chance but he doesn’t deserve the don't let him leave town treatment the media and fans want to give him.
I was simply referring to the fact that he was fired, not for performance, but for not violating serious league rules dealing with the integrity of the game.

He certainly had his flaws.

He is a great DC. But if he comes in and crushes it, he will be high in HC hiring lists again.

I would prefer we get a young guy who will be here at least 3-5 years

You realize it's very very early, yes?

I'll be surprised if he's not hired as HC for some team. He's almost certainly going to get interviews. If DAL wants him, they're going to have to wait it out, and at the peril that they lose out on some other candidates while they're waiting.
He may still be considered toxic. That might be the case until his lawsuit gets settled

Flores is probably the best and most qualified of all the names mentioned, BUT….

If he comes here and fixes this mess of a defense, he will probably get HC offers as soon as next offseason, and we can’t have whoever it is leaving after one season again.

If a guy like Leonhard does the same, I wouldn’t think they’d come calling so soon.

This is a good point .........The NFL filed a motion with the Supreme Court this week. From my understanding, it could take a while before they decide whether or not to take up the case coz it could impact not just the NFL but the entire sports industry. In other words, this thing is still a few years from settlement. I am not convinced any team is going to hire him as HC out or fear they could be added to the lawsuit if they have to fire him.

Interestingly, only the Ravens are interviewing him so far.
I hate to say it, but I think he's blackballed to the ceiling of DC.

They have been begging him to sign a new contract since before the start of the 2024 season
hmm. so why is he interested in moving to DC position in another organization. he has a great defense in Minny.
sounds a bit strange. they want him. he doesn't want them. he gets paid almost as much as Schotty. why move to another team for same position?
just wondering
