News: NW: Ravens Player Grateful Cowboys Deal Didn't Happen

POST OF THE DAY
And no, Coogs, there will not be one better than this.
I'm not even sure what he means,

do you think that Bateman rejecting the Cowboys make the Cowboys fans feel bad I don't even remember the talk about him coming here..
all I remember is the Cowboys got the better player in George Pickens, so whatever happened I'm feeling good about it....

So I don't know what self-loathing he thinks fans with actual pride who treat the Cowboys as a year to year prospect,

I just here to watch football and I'm just thinking about this offseason, I don't even remember the trade rumors about Rashad Bateman..

But I know this why we would be feeling bad instead of good right now, we got rejected by the worst player, and George Pickens seems elated to be here, the best player is absolutely doing backflips, well that would be Milton, but he's also happy to be here doing backflips, literal backflips. :muttley:

A lot of you thinking somehow the real fans the diehard fans who just live year to year and not harp on the last 30-year narrative,

We're still good we're all good, we're not the sky is falling Debbie Downer crowd, the really dark fans, that we have around here you're mistaking prideful fans for some of the Truly negative fans online.

I've been to games recently, There's not that tone inside the stadium, or at the the tailgating ,or just walking around the stadium at the outside of the front gates, people hanging out and talking they are not those fans who are now hating on the team and wishing for bad things ,
there are very few of those idiots that standing at the stadium that saying fire Jerry that's not the majority most of the cowboy fans,
I talked to while disappointed and yes we are disappointed about the lack of playoff success we are still just as happy and proud to be a cowboys fan you will not find me hiding my hat or my jerseys.

It means some fans do not like anything the team does, find fault with anything good, and continue to exploit the perceived bad.
This is a non story about a trade that did not happen, if there were that in depth talks to begin with. Or just a ... hey, is Bateman available for trade.

We got the far better deal with Pickens butt o some that is an issue. They clamor for the FO do make a trade, or sign player X. Get a big name to show us you want to improve the team. Then when it happens they do not like it.

More much ado about nothing. What did people expect him to say when speaking to a Baltimore-based site, "Man, I really wish I'd gone to Dallas but I guess now I'll have to stay here"?

We really need training camp to start.

Ravens Player Grateful Cowboys Deal Didn't Happen

The Baltimore Ravens nearly found themselves in a situation where they had to potentially cut ties with the veteran wide receiver, Rashod Bateman.
Before inking a deal with the Baltimore Ravens, Bateman was rumored to be a target for the Dallas Cowboys. Bateman was likely open to making his way to Texas, but at the end of the day, he's thankful to remain in his current situation with the Ravens.
"I went through a lot of things with the Cowboys and all of that with my contract," Bateman told The Athletic. "There was a time when I didn't know what was going to happen. (The Cowboys talks) were a thing, for sure. It was a possibility. I don't want to deny that."

nowhere does that headline appear lol.

"DeCosta, he's always making magic work," Bateman added, "and he made it work. And I'm thankful for that."

he's happy the deal to stay with the ravens worked out. not happy the cowboys deal didn't.

Yeah, that's the thing every single player that is on the trade block or that's a free agent is somehow connected to the Cowboys,

so whichever ones were actually an honest possibility, I don't know it's hard to separate the rumors from the rest.

There's just so many My head spin so I just blow off every single story about who's connected to the Cowboys and I just wait and see what we hear from the actual source at the start we start hearing real smoke from them which was around the draft that they were truly interested in George Pickens and they eventually made it work...

. I'm not going to set myself up for any disappointment so I don't believe anything out here anymore until I hear it from the source everything else is just a giant rumor...

But yes the Cowboys came out on top with this Pickens over Bateman 100 percent Cowboys win..

Lol, right? Player press-speak. If he had actually been traded here he'd be going on about what a world class organization this is, etc. Get resigned? I'm happy to be back, y'all.

We got the better receiver yes the Cowboys win he's knocking the Cowboys cowboys fans can't even stand up and have some pride and be offended this guy said this this is a sad state for Cowboys fans but in the end, I don't think Cowboys fans realize the Cowboys made the better move...
I am offended, but I can't say that's he wrong. As long as we have the Jerry Clown Show in the front office I don't believe we will win anything. I'm going to die before I see another Super Bowl from my team. At least Pickens is the much better player.

To be honest Bateman is a trash WR anyways. Always hurt and drops balls.
Be just like Dallas to trade for garbage just like they did Mingo. Why the heck wouldn't they make a trade for really good players in their prime.
I agree he is better than Tolbert but no where near Pickens so if the terms of the trade were the same, Pickens is a better player than Bateman almost everyday.

To be fair, most players want to stay on the team they've been playing on. They don't want to get uprooted and move away from friends/teammates if they can help it.

That might have been most of his real motivation for wanting to stay.

I'm sure if he was traded he would be saying things like, happy for a fresh start, the opportunity, etc. This article is overall pretty generic football talk.

Shocker, a guy is happy he stayed with his current team, a team who wins a lot of games. Im glad it fell through also, much more excited to see Pickens play.
Yeah, and Pickens wanted to be here. Now, he probably wanted to be anywhere other than Pittsburgh, but he's happy about his new start.

Then some fans on here would be screaming at Jerry about not making that trade. As they do not want to admit, we got the better deal in Pickens.
I think that Pickens might be the best move of the offseason by any team. Sure, it could blow up, but that doesn't seem likely for this season since he's in a contract year.

I consider it equivalent to the Eagles trading for A.J. Brown, but Philly had to give up a first-round and third-round pick. Brown had one year remaining on his contract (like Pickens) and was coming off a season where he missed three games to injury and finished with 63 receptions for 869 and 4 TDs. Pickens had 59, 900 and 3 last year. Brown had a little better numbers overall, though, before he was traded.

Of course, it appears that Brown fetched a much higher price because he was primarily traded because of a contract dispute while Pickens was traded for character concerns.

...he means, "I'm lucky to have a job in NFL". Ravs willing to deal, Cowboys talked, but no deal.

This guy went back to Ravs, counting his blessings.

And then he signs with Seattle for basically the same odds
I don't know. He's teammed up with Quinton Bohanna and Jonathan Hankins again. That has to be a winning formula. (Just joking because I don't think Bohanna and Hankins even make the team while they would stand a chance here.)

I see there seems to not be enough threads for Cowboy fans to force Cowboy fans to give up being Cowboy fans. Let's add another negative one to the fire.

You mean the same D law fizzled in the playoffs like wet fireworks??

Of course he knew we wouldn't win one because he was also part of the problem.
I don't hold the lack of playoff success against the good players we've had. That's like blaming DeMarcus Ware (a much better pass rusher, though) as part of the problem IMO for us not succeeding in the playoffs.

I also can't blame him for feeling like he stands a better chance of winning a Super Bowl somewhere else, because history is on his side. Signing with Seattle as that better chance says it's more about the money.

Maybe he meant divisional playoff game lol. He never won one of those.

Seattle has better odds in that case.

Championship? Meh, slightly better in Seattle but not by much. He made it sound like it was about winning but still went where the most money was I’m sure.

I won’t miss that guy. He was around a little too long.

All that talk and he went somewhere with maybe a slightly better situation? lol. He went to the highest bidder masked as wanting to win a championship
