Since its slow, I thought I would put this up. Bill Simmons had a hilarious article last week about the greatest unintentionally funny moments on YouTube, and this was one of them. Talk about a collage of faces that reflect utter defeat. My favorite reaction is the guy in the gray sweatshirt after the pick of Johnny Mitchell.

Beautiful stuff. :lmao2:

The guy in the gray sweatshirt was classic.

Pete Rozelle was a classic. He loved to play the crowd when the Jets selection came up each year. He would pause for effect, and usually had a grin.

:lmao: I know. He would totally place a long pause between the position and the player's name so someone could get off a "Oh Gawd !!! NOOOoooooooo !!!"

The amazing part of that was that it seemed like whenever they picked they had a choice between two guys at the same position. The guys they didn't pick went off the board later in the round and did OK for themselvs.

Ken O'Brien over Dan Marino
Al Toon over Jerry Rice
Blair Thomas over Emmitt Smith

Ouch.

It is amazing how bad the Jets have been consistentlyover the years. We had our bad time with Jerry; and some of Landry's later drafts, but nothing compares to the jets.

No sportswriter even comes close to being as funny and interesting as Bill SImmons. His is the only column I never miss.

Wow, I never thought about how many times they missed until now...

The guy saying.. "I would have thought that they would be going for Dan Marino, but obviously the brass knows something."

Bwahahahaha

If message boards were around back then, there would have been some poster telling the Marino-backers, "Oh, Ok. So, you think you know more than the GM of the Jets? Huh? Sorry, but I trust the people who actually make a living evaluating players than some poster on a message board."

HAHAH! Too true, too true. In fact, I hear this a lot even now. :)

Then when the person bombed out there would be a thread wondering what happened to the guy that posted the pro-burnout message.
