Cowboys trade Julius Jones to Greenbay for Packers 2nd round pick AND D.T Colin Cole. Cole was made to be a 3-4 N.T, Former wrestler and Football standout at University of Iowa. 6-2 335, strong as a bull too. Had roughly the same amount of tackles big Fergy did in the last couple years even though he was splitting time. Cole plugs the hole in back of Fergy and also gives us a player capable of starting when Ferg heads off into the sunset. We then end up with a draft including Cole that looks something like THIS, well , my Idea of a draft anyway...LOL.................................................................Acquired from Greenbay in Jones trade......# 90 Colin Cole

Strengths:
An outstanding natural athlete...Good speed and quickness with terrific range...A ballhawk and impact playmaker in the secondary...Is very instinctive...Aggressive, physical and a big hitter who plays much bigger than he is...Is more than willing to come up and help support the run...Versatile and may be able to play multiple positions...Very productive and has a knack for being around the action...Upside.

Weaknesses:
Has less than 11/2 seasons of Division I starting experience...Size is only average and he does not have the ideal bulk that you would prefer...Intelligence is a huge issue and he was not known to be a very good student...Not a great tackler and is often times more worried about delivering a knockout blow than he is wrapping up...He can be physically overmatched in-the-box...Has some durability concerns.

Notes:
A standout JUCO transfer from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College...Some feel he may also be able to play cornerback at the next level...Coming off a fantastic junior campaign where he was a finalist for a number of national awards...Classic centerfielder...Very similar in many ways to Michael Huff but not quite as good of a prospect...Fast-riser who is a lock to be one of the first defensive backs chosen. Strengths:
An outstanding athlete for the position with excellent quickness...Moves very well on pulls and has good range...Gets to the second level and excels in space...Feet are extremely nimble and plays with good knee bend...Smart, a hard worker and quick learner...Adequate size and strength...Still improving & has a lot of upside.

Weaknesses:
Lacks a killer instinct and doesn't always finish his blocks...Is not overpowering as a run blocker...Raw and still learning the position...Still working on mastering the nuances and technique of the position...Does not get a great push and he will get knocked backwards...Is not yet a finished product and will need to be developed.

Notes:
He began his college career as a defensive tackle before moving to tight end and then eventually settling in at offensive guard in 2004...Really didn't emerge as a top pro prospect until his senior year when he saw his stock soar...Might end up getting drafted a little earlier than his play would justify based on potential alone. 2nd pick, 2nd round...Antonio PittmanHeight: 5-103/4 | Weight: 207 | 40-Time: 4.40

Strengths:
Excellent timed speed and has a burst...Tough and plays bigger than he is...Was very productive and he got better every year...A natural runner with outstanding patience...Is able to run effectively inside or outside...Nifty, has good balance and does not go down easily...A big play threat who can take it the distance...Showed good hands and pass catching potential in limited chances...A solid effort blocker.

Weaknesses:
Does not have the ideal bulk that you look for and may need to gain weight...Raw and unpolished as a receiver...Only an average blocker and may not have a lot of upside there...He may not be able to withstand carrying the load at the pro level.

Notes:
Entered the draft after his junior season as it looked liked he would continue to lose carries to youngster Beanie Wells...There is plenty to like about this guy but the main question will be can he start or if he is more of a backup...Not a finished product as a receiver/blocker but if he can get a bit bigger there's a major upside. Strengths:
A smooth athlete...Ball skills, balance and body control are superb...Has excellent hands and makes both the routine and tough catches...Speed is good, albeit not great, but he plays faster than he times and has a burst...Very elusive and runs well after the catch...A deep threat who can stretch the field vertically...Will work across the middle and in traffic...Very productive...Has potential as a return man.

Weaknesses:
Not a great route runner and needs to pay more attention to detail...Not much of a blocker and isn't very physical or aggressive...Takes plays off and work ethic is a question...He only has two years of DI experience...Has some durability concerns.

Notes:
Prefers to go by "Drae"...Considered coming out after his junior season...A JUCO All-American at Georgia Military Academy who officially enrolled at East Carolina in Jan. of '05...Might not project to be a true #1 receiver at the pro level but can be an excellent #2 option...Doesn't get a lot of attention but he has quietly emerged as a top pro prospect and how high he goes may surprise most casual observers. Strengths:
Aggressive and has an outstanding motor...Decent athlete with adequate timed speed and good quickness...Has a terrific first step and great anticipation...Good in pursuit and has a burst to close...Instinctive and always around the action...Is smart and a hard worker with top-notch intangibles...Just has a knack for making plays in the backfield and was extraordinarily productive throughout his career.

Weaknesses:
A bit undersized...Is not very stout against the run...Lacks elite agility and change of direction skills...Has some trouble disengaging from blocks...Can use his hands and play with better leverage...Can be overaggressive at times...He'll miss some tackles and run himself out of plays...Didn't always play against top competition.

Notes:
Nickname is “Buzz”...Had somewhat of a down senior campaign but that was due in part to his dealing with the death of his brother as well as a hospital stay to treat a case of sepsis...Could potentially be moved to outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme at the next level...May never be an All-Pro like Julius Peppers but should play in the league for a very long time and most certainly has starting potential. Strengths:
Has terrific size...Extremely strong and physical...Tough and aggressive...Stout at the point of attack and will not get pushed around...Has a nasty demeanor and a killer instinct...Versatile...Durable...A hard worker and coaches speak highly of his intangibles...Excellent awareness and a high football IQ...Has a lot of experience.

Weaknesses:
Not a great athlete...Lacks top speed and quickness...Won't do much in space or get to the second level...Is not light on his feet...Has short arms...Doesn't always play with great leverage...Won't be a fit for every scheme...Intelligence an issue?

Notes:
A four-year starter...Was suspended for academic troubles in November of 2006 and missed the remainder of his senior season...Could also project to right tackle or guard at the next level...A classic mauler...Similar in many ways to Minnesota Viking Ryan Cook...Not quite the pro prospect many thought he would be earlier in his career but he is a very solid player who could excel with the right franchise. 6th round pick one..........Jared ZabranskyHeight: 6-21/8 | Weight: 219 | 40-Time: 4.58

This is great but most people do not believe that we can even get a 2nd round pick for him. I don't see GB giving us the 47th (?) pick over all and Cole. I probably wouldn't be against it if it were to happen but I don't see it happening. JMO

Good effort on all of this. I like your draft, but I'm not ready to part with Jones yet.

Have you not seen where Jerry has said we're not trading Jones ?

No Trade Bait

Following Wednesday's presentation, Jones also quelled recent rumors that the team is shopping starting running back Julius Jones.

Jerry Jones said he liked last year's rotation between Julius Jones and Marion Barber and hopes Tyson Thompson can return from last year's season-ending fractured tibia as a viable third option. But trading Jones, who played in all 16 regular-season games and reached 1,000 yards for the first time in his career, is not a point of interest.

"I don't see that happening," Jerry Jones said. "We have got a team that's going to need some great plays from that position and I like what we've done there with (Marion) Barber. More than likely, unless we have an opportunity in the draft to do something, it's likely that we'll be going with the running back group we ended the season with."

Its entirely possible that Jerry remains open to moving Julius for the right offer. Just because he denies it publicly doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

Anyone is for sale at the right price. Do I think we're looking to give Julius away? No.

Maybe we should trade Romo to the Raiders for their 1st rd. pick.
Trade T-New to Detroit for their 1st
Trade D. Ware to the Browns for their 1st.
We could fill all our holes with those draft picks.

I think we should hold off on our trading JJ till we see what he can do behind a talented line. Admit it, our line sucked last year. We had nowhere to run, Romo never got to stand in the pocket and go thru his progressions, and we still went to the play offs, Romo made the probowl and JJ had a 1,000 yard season. Imagine how much better our offense can be when our line is actually opening up holes and protecting the qb. Plus i think Parcells had his thumb on JJ for some reason. My vote is to keep him here next year.

Good options, however, trades are extremely difficult to pull off.

You did know that CJ was kidding, didn't you ?;)

I like it. Julius Jones for a 2nd and a DT. After that, we can trade MBIII for Carson Palmer. That frees us up to trade Tony Romo straight-up for LaDainian Tomlinson.
