Columbo is still very inexperienced- I think that he has the talent but needs more work. He can still be a good RT. Gurode is good as Center.
Kosier up till now has been pretty good- so he is ok.
RIvera- he is done. We blew that one- he was on the edge of starting downhill and that back injury accelerated it.
Flo is still rehabbing and should not be playing- simple as that. It was actually painfull to watch him- that thread about seeing him limp in the grocery store earlier this week- that right there tellls you he has no business playing.
What we should do now is bring in McQ and start him. Put in Proctor and start him. Find out if they have the talent. If they do- fine. If they don't then we know what we need to do in FA and the draft next off season.

It's time to start TOTALLY revamping the friggin OL like I said last year and STOP the continued excuse making on their behalf.

This was completely expected (at least by me).

OL coach wouldn't hurt either.

I think Rivera has played poorly physically. The whole right side made mental errors last night. Strahan was everywhere. Arrington came though against Rivera. Columbo may be salvageable, but I don't think Rivera is. I don't know whether the left side was as bad.

McQ is not the answer. Maybe in about 3-4 years. Rookie OT's barely make an impact ... rookie 7th round OT's shouldn't see the field unless mopping up.

If you want to go through the Rob Petite thing again, then start McQ.

Flo is all we have. Maybe next year we can work on OT ... again.

WE could move AL to ceneter and bump groude to RG

I think that is worthy of some thought. Al may help with some of the calls that we seem to be missing. I just hate to see getting pushed three feet back on each play.

Just because someone is a 7th rd does not mean anything. remember, his twin was drafted in the 3rd. He has the physical talent- he is just very inexperienced. The sad fact is that flo is not PHYSICALLY capable now.

Seems like the oline blocks the wrong guys far too often. Is that coaching, bad recognition by Gurode? People are going to get beat from time to time but it seems to me like the biggest breakdowns have been mental mistakes and line calls.

How do we know that we are missing the calls? It could be that someone else might not be doing their assignment.

I think FLo is PHYSICALLY unable to play well. If he is limping just walking through a grocery store that is pretty damning. Rivera is done. Those two need to be replaced RIGHT now. Give McQ and Proctor a shot- if they cannot do better try Fabini, then put Gurode at G and bring in Johnson.

McQ's brother was taken in the 3rd by a lousy team with a horrible OL and can't get on the field.

What does that say about our McQ???

I wouldn't put any faith in him. Flo hasn't played that poorly. He can only block one defender at a time.

Strahan's and Arrington's first sacks were both breakdowns in scheme. Rivera blocked down on Strahan's forcing Colombo to pick up the DT leaving no one to block Strahan and something similar happened on the Arrington sack. Colombo blocked Strahan, Rivera helped with Gurode the DT and Arrington shot through the gap. Its the same story as the Philly game.

There is a reason Rivera was let go by the Packers and that was before his back condition.

I don't think you can fully compare McQ to Petite. For one thing he may be stronger and has quicker feet. Perhaps more intelligent as well. I think Adams is on the downside of his ability because of injury, no Larry Allen to shore him up. All that good talent evaluation simply does not rub off on the Oline especially when you look at drafting and acquision of personnel over the last decade.

Wrong. Rivera blocked the right man, and Colombo also tried to block that same man. Columbo screwed up there.

I have no idea who screwed up on the Arrington sack. At that point all I could see was red so I didn't get a good look.
