Wow. I can't remember being so excited as I was when we pulled into the parking lot and started walking towards the stadium. HUGE is an understatement.
When I first walked in, my jaw literally dropped. I walked in behind the endzone, and immedietely you can see the whole stadium. You just knew the place was special. I saw the "small" video board that is visable from the endzones. I had forgotten about the "big" video screen I would see when I was on the sideline side.
I took a left and made my way to section 235. Looking at everything I could, taking everything in I could. Soaking up the atmosphere. Then it happened...... My wife and I came to an opening around the 40 yard line where you could look across the stadium to the other side of the field, and thats when we both LITERALLY stopped dead in our tracks and both our mouths opened up and we stared. The "big" video screen.
Words simply cannot express how MAMMOTH this thing is. I've never seen anything like it. Nobody has. It absolutely defies logic. You can see 1000 pictures of it, but until you see it live, you just won't understand it. Its like explaining what an orgasm feels like to a 5 year old. Words just won't do it. And the picture quality???? Sweet Jesus. It was like sitting in your living room watching a 50 inch Pioneer Elite plasma. Hell, it was better.
We made it to our seats which were in the 2nd level, on the 50 yard line. We were smack dab in front of the "mitsubishi" logo on the big screen. I've read on this board people thinking it was "too big". I disagree. It was awesome. Simply awesome. Especially for a concert, where as good as our tickets were, you were still a long way from the stage. The stage was set up in what would be the endzone. Everyone watched that screen 90% of the time rather than the stage. It was that spectacular. I can't stop thinking about watching a play under review on this board. If someone has a toe on a piece of white grass going out of bounds, everyone will be able to see it in a nanosecond. The screen is that big, and that sharp.

Enough about the screen though, here are some other highlights (and a few lowlights)....
1. George sang a couple songs, and then said "Hey, I just remembered something....doesn't this stadium have a retractable roof"??? With that, he made the crowd chant...."Push the button Jerry, Push the button Jerry"..... until finally the heavens parted and the roof opened up. It was righteous.
2. The seats were VERY comfortable. All thickly padded and plenty wide enough. Only problem was some sections had cup holders, others didn't. Weird.
3. This is going to be one helluva loud stadium. When the whole crowd cheered for something, you couldnt hear yourself think.
4. The cowboys "proshop" inside is enormous. I've shopped grocery stores that aren't this big. They have just about anything dallas cowboys you could want to buy.
5. I'm sure this will change, but there were no metal detectors, and nobody checked you for anything, meaning you could bring in a flask of your favorite booze and party the night away free of charge.
6. If any of you bought seats in the nose bleed section and are worried about the view.....worry no more. The video screen will make you think you're sitting behind the water boy on the sideline. You may not be able to see anything in live action, but the replays will more than make up for it.
7. The concourse (at least on the 2nd level), was very large. Plenty of room for everyone. There was one issue though. Imagine that your walking around the entire stadium on the 2nd level..... then between the 40 yard markers on both sides are 2 glass doors with security checking your tickets to make sure you have seats on this concourse. Its an incredible inconveniance, and it slows things up BIG TIME. The only thing I could compare it too would be tollbooths in the middle of a city, yet only 1 guy working the actual booth. Traffic comes to a dead halt.
Lowlights.......
1. On the "endzone" sides, they have curtains. They are ugly, and still let rays of sun come in and beam on the field. Maybe during football season when the sun is a little more south, it won't be a problem, but more than that, the curtains were damn ugly. I would tint the windows either smoke, or silver. It would look righteous, and help with the sun spots.
2. Bathrooms don't have "automatic" urinals, toilets, or sinks". A small thing, but you would think that in a stadium like that, you'd spend the extra money. The only reason not too, would be because these are more environmentally freindly maybe???? I dunno.
3. They ran out of EVERYTHING. Ran out of paper towels in the mens bathrooms. Ran out of toilet paper in the girls bathrooms. Ran out of Miller Lite, and Shiner bock beer too. And all of this was before George ever got on stage.
4. Prices for booze and food were RIDICULOUS. Maybe I just don't get out much, but when the guy next too me ordered two "Grey Goose" Vodka's and two Coors lights, and his bill came to $66, I almost choked. My Miller lights were $8 each. I read a menu in the concourse that had a smoked briscuit sandwich for $14. OUCH.
5. Smoking areas. Outside by each endzone only. If you have seats on the 50 yard line, start walking.
6. The police have no clue on how to let traffic out of that stadium yet. I'm sure they'll learn in time, but tonigth was rough.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, so feel free to ask if you have any questions. Also, I have a bunch of pics, and even some video, but for whatever reason, I always have a ton of trouble uploading them. If there is someone out there that can do it quickly, I will email the pics to you and you can post them if its not too much trouble for you. Just PM me your email address.
