***? He picked against us vs. the line and straight... Wow. Did he call every GM in the league for advice on this one too?

Gosselin almost always picks the home team to win. He picked the home teams to go 15-0 this weekend. (They didn't pick last night's game, but he surely would have picked the Steelers, too.)

After the draft, just put him on mute.

Good for him. Glad he went out on that limb. I hope he doesn't mind looking foolish when he's wrong.

Wow!

If the Cowboys can't win this game, my feeling is that they are a 7-9 team.

But, the bottom line is that the Cowboys should win this thing– and beat the spread. The Bucs are just too dysfunctional at this point.

pardon my ignorance but whats vs line and straight?
The line is the point spread and straight means that the Bucs will win the game. For example The Cowboys are favored by 6 points, so in order to win the bet, the Cowboys would have to beat the Bucs by 7 points or more, ties loose.

"Line" is (roughly) how oddsmakers are leaning. Suppose there's a point spread (e.g. line is that Cowboys are expected to win by 7) and you predict the Cowboys will win. Then suppose they win 17-14. Then you have chosen the winner right "straight" but wrong "vs. the line"

So why even ask him? Picking strictly the home team is about as stupid as basing picks off of which mascot would win in a bar fight.

How lazy do you have to be to just pick home teams? Raiders over the Chargers? There is no way he picked those picks.

Just look at the bottom of the list and notice that he picked the Raiders to win over San Diego, that pretty much tells you all you need to know about whether to take his picks seriously.

Ties do not lose when better against the spreads...the cowboys are favored by 6, if I bet that the cowboys will cover 6 and they win by 6, the bet is considered a tie.

Funny that Goose's picks are all 'homer' picks.

Now one of the office football pools I was in had a guy whose criteria for picking was always the Northernmost city of any pairing. He won as many times as the football gurus over the season, because on weeks when there were tons of upsets, he'd squeek in the winner because of his quasi random choices. Probably worked better in the winter part of the season as well.

if we dont win then it will be a worse loss than the one against the rams last year, all our starters are healthy for this game.it will hurt our playoff chances too-just as the rams loss did.

Dont you lose the vig though? 100 dollar bet you lose the 10%

I just dont see them hanging with us. I guess my only concern is if we blitz quite a bit and they pick it up and give Leftwich time to possibly make a big play.

I'll say 31-17, win.

Rick Gosselin = Skip Bayless

(They both say and do things to try and stir the Pot)

Gosselin has descent Draft Coverage but mostly his other comments are useless and meaningless.
