Everyone has their thoughts on how to improve the 'Boys this offseason. So here goes mine.

1) TRADE: Offer Romo & 18th pick for Vilma and the Jets 2nd Round choice. (Rumors were flying during the season that the Jets wanted to deal Vilma to San Diego for Rivers. Also had us giving Romo to them for a 3rd.)

2) FA: Sign Jeff Backus RT Detroit Lions; Ryan Longwell K Green Bay; Corey Chavous S Minnesota Vikings

3) Draft: 2nd Round (Jets) Gabe Watson DT Michigan, 2nd Round Max Jean-Giles G/T Georgia 3rd Round Maurice Stovall WR Notre Dame, 4-7 round BPA

Key loss: LaRoi Glover, Al Singleton

Starting Line-up/Back-Up

QB: Bledsoe/Henson
RB: Jones/Barber
FB: Polite
WR: Johnson, Glenn, Crayton, Stovall
TE: Witten/Campbell
RT: Adams/Columbo
RG: Allen/Peterman
C: Johnson/Gurode
LG: Rivera/Jean-Giles
LT: Backus/Pettiti

LE: Canty/Ellis
NT: Ferguson/Watson
RE: Spears/Ratliff

LB: Ware/Thornton
LB: James/Shanle
LB: Vilma/Fowler
LB: Fujita/Burnett

CB: Henry/Reeves
SS: Williams/Davis
FS: Chavous/Beurilut (sp)
CB: Newman/Glenn

Pretty good post, I think Chavous is a good Fa pickup, as well as longwell.
Here are my offseason signings, BTW our punter's name is McBriar, not McBrief!!!! I would love to get Vilma, but i dont think that will happen, especially with Pennington getting healthy, plus that is alot to offer for one player. I think just giving our 1st rounder would be enough to get Vilma.

- Jon Runyan- RT
- Corey Chavous- FS
- Ryan Longwell- K
- Will Witherspoon/Akin Ayodele/Ray Lewis(Ray wants to be traded to JAC or DAL, Its possible, he could bring leadership as well as mentoring or younger defensive players:):):))

With that said, i would love to get
- Jon Runyan- RT
- Corey Chavous- FS
- Ryan Longwell- K
- Will Witherspoon/Akin Ayodele

*Possibly Terrell Owens to provide a playmaking spark to our offense*

No way is this happening. The Jets would have to be on crack for that trade. The 18th pick for Vilma is about even, the 2nd for Romo is not going to happen.

No way is Pettitti a backup at left tackle. He's a battler, but his feet are not good enough for LT in the NFL.

Dump Polite, they need a FB that can block. He hasn't shown me anything about being a good FB.

FA:

K Ryan Longwell~big money
RT Kevin Barry~relatively cheap
FS Lance Schulters~relatively cheap

draft:

1.) NC State DE Manny Lawson~OLB in 3-4, looking unblockable so far in Senior Bowl workouts
2.) Miami (OH) WR Martin Nance~big, fast, can get deep
3.) Cal OT Ryan O'Callahan(SP)~big, carries weight well, looking good so far in Senior Bowl workouts
*no 4th*
5.) Nebraska S Daniel Bullocks~showing versatility covering in the deep zone, and acting like a 4th LB, good in man-to-man coverage in college

I think you should switch your second and third picks. O'Callahan is having a great Senior Bowl and is dominating. He might go in the 2nd. Nance and the other recievers seem to be laying eggs. Nance will probably drop to the third round. This years class of recievers suck.

no way stovall falls to the third round, i personally believe hes the best reciever in the draft, the kid is huge 6-5, has great hands and makes tons of plays, his 40 might be a little slow (not sure if true) but this kids a player, hell go late first to mid second for sure.

He's tall but I wouldn't consider him "huge". The Senior Bowl practices are showing what some of us already knew. Stovall has a great shot at being very good in the NFL.

WRs in the NFL need to get separation and Stovall does that. Very quick for his size and really uses his hands well to create more separation than any other receiver there. I don't really care what a player's 40 time is, some "slow" players separate (Rice, Owens) while some blazers don't.

.....One thing scares me about Stovall. How much of his success is due to the fact that teams had to concentrate on Samardzija playing opposite Stovall? Samardzija has better speed, ALOT better hands, had more catches for more yards than Stovall, Better yards per catch too, plus Samardzija had 16 touchdowns to Stovalls 11. Samardzija seems to be better with the ball after the catch too. Not saying Stovall isnt any good, just saying his numbers might be inflated due to the attention payed Samardzija. All I know is after watching quite a few N.D games this year it seemed like it was always Samardzija coming up with the big plays and not Stovall. Best Reciever in this years draft??? Hardly. Stovall wasnt even the best reciever on his Notre dame team....

Well then who is better?

I've personally never been sold on Holmes. I've seen some mediocre corners shut him down and he probably isn't the best receiver on his own team either.

Not sure really, just know it isnt Stovall for all the reasons I listed.

I like Baskett. I think that you can draft him a bit later and get more. JMO of course.

He might be a better value. It is really a down year for WRs though isn't it?

So because his teammate is an incredible college player he isn't good?
Noooooooooooo, im not saying that at all. Just saying his stats MAY be a little misleading. Also saying he wasnt even the best wideout on his team. And he wasnt...

I mean think of it....If your supposedly gonna be this stud NFL player wouldnt you think that you would at least be the best player on your own college team at that position? Sure, its happened, but the truth is most of the time the better college player is the better pro.

If he's not the best wideout on his team, the only way his stats would be misleading is they would be lower than they should with the other WR bogarting catches and TDs that usually go to the #1 guy.
