Off the wall question, would Dallas be interested in T. J. Duckett

if he should become a free agent later this season or at the end of it? He is a power back and we have 3 speed, shifty, smart runing backs. I would imagine at this point he would go for peanuts. I was interested him when he was drafted but his NFL career has been the pits. Could Bill turn him into another Juice for us?

I wouldn't call Barber a speed, shifty RB. He has "some" moves, but that isn't his strenght - hard running is.

Assuming Thompson heals I just don't see what Duckett would bring to the table.

Duckett is a big back but he doesn't run like a power back. I don't see a place for him in Dallas.

marion barber is better as a big back even if he isn't all that big

brandon jacobs is just about the only back in the league I wish we had.

I wouldn't mind LT.

maybe but I think our offensive schemes might not be all that great for a guy that dynamic. Now if peyton was still here I would love to have him.

Don't think we might adjust our offense just a wee bit to take advantage of LT ........ ?

I know having a "dynamic" RB is a big problem, but I'm guessing we could work through it.

our offense is old school and conservative. I don't know if we havea coach on the team that would adequately play to LT's strengths. A back like jacobs would compliment what the coaches want to call already.

I agree and would NEVER consider trading Barber for him.....

I wouldn't call Barber a power back though. He in some ways reminds me of Emmitt. I admit I always wanted Dallas to have a power RB. Like Riggins was for the skinz or that old guy that did spot duty as a power back from the Stealers last year. You know, that old bus guy. :D Jerome Bettis.

Partially because I have always been a fan of smash mouth football and partially because the only Dallas player I ever thought of that way was Walt Garrison and that was a long time ago.

I agree that Barber isn't truly a power back, but frankly Duckett hasn't shown a whole lot in that capacity either. I would rather develop a FB to fill that kind of role and keep the depth at RB we have with JJ, Barber and Thompson.

Parcells is much more adaptable than he is portrayed. He definately adjusts his approach to the personnel he has. And he's certainly not stupid. If he had LT he'd find a way to exploit the situation.

No thanks. The Skins traded for him and they don't even seem to want him.

Understood about our three current backs but with regard to Duckett was O. J. Anderson all that he could be his first few years in the league?

I actually like that Dallas converted Oliver(?) to a FB position from being a LB.

You've got to be kidding, right ...... ?

Parcells got a hell of a lot of mileage out of Joe Morris and Curtis Martin.

LT can do the same things they can and more.

Do you really think that it would take that much extra imagination to throw in a few more pitchouts or other plays designed to LT's strengths.

Even more important, do you really think LT is so limited that he can only have success in an offense that is dramatically more exotic than ours?

both our back are pretty damn good at the screen and we hardly call it.
Thats an example of not playing to our strengths. I think a guy like jacobs wouldn't cause any change to our plans. I do not think LT would be as good as he is capable of being in our system, no. I thnk brandon jacobs would be. I don't see LT as a north south back, kinda like reggie bush. You can dissagree with me but I don't think LT would be a good fit in our offense. he would be good but not great. I just think he needs a creative offensive mind to get the most out of him and I don't see that here.

Is there any more conservative coach than Marty alphabet soup? Even he has found a way to let LT flourish.

If you believe this then you don't believe LT is an outstanding RB.

The comparison to Reggie Bush baffles me - LT isn't a small, scatback type - he's 220+ pounds and can run through tackles as well as run past defenders. He's an all around RB - the kind that can be successful in any system because his skill set is adaptable - he isn't the kind of guy that is restricted to success only in the right circumstances.

As for Brandon Jacobs, he IS a limited RB - very good at what he does, but not versatile.
