Offense just needs a few tweaks this offseason, if 2 return!

Retaining Pickens/Javonte Williams is the offense priority this offseason. You want to keep continuity and build upon this season's success. Some tweaks are needed:

-Must figure out the Tackle position. Guyton is always hurt and Steele is a major liability in pass protection. Thomas has taken that next step in his development, from end of the roster to a serviceable swing tackle with upside. They always have the option of moving Tyler Smith to tackle, but the interior is their strength.

-#2 Running back-Blue has been a major bust, where he was a healthy scratch for the majority of the season. Must add competition to the spot. Adding a change of pace, speedy type would be ideal. Would you bring back Pollard if released on the cheap?

-Depth at TE-Span Ford has developed into a good blocking TE, but Schoon just hasn't taken that next step being a former 2nd rd selection. If there is a good TE on day 3, good idea to upgrade the position.

-Future Franchise QB-it is time to start throwing darts at the board looking for Dak's eventual replacement.

Which darts should Jerry Jones (based on his post-Jimmy Johnson era history) be expected to actually throw at the board? Not try to throw. Nope. Actually, toss at it. Is it his:
  • Draft Day 2 dart variety (i.e., Quincy Carter)? or
  • Draft Day 3 dart variety (i.e., Isaiah Stanback [converted WR], Stephen McGee, Dak Prescott, Mike White, Ben DiNucci)?

Need another RB with good receiving skills and breakaway speed. Is pollard available next year? We need a backup like him.

Need a Right Tackle to take that job. Maybe Thomas grows in the offseason? A couple weeks ago I was sure they would release Steele and save 18 million. Now I’m not so sure.

There are some young TE’s on the practice squad that were intriguing in preseason. A TE who can really run would be nice to fit on the roster.

We will need 2 running backs, do we really think Williams will sign with us, he's going to test his value and sign with a team that can offer lots of money!!!!

Fix the tackle spots, move Guyton to RT, let him get better and better so he can be all-pro before and during his contract year comes, we resign him and make a huge mistake!!!

We need to get possibly another WR, one that's quick!!

They definitely need to address the OT’s. That’s going to be a key this offseason. Jury’s still out on Guyton as he’s young and still developing. Steele needs to be replaced. I would also replace the OL coach. I disagree on the TE’s. I think they’re all solid. Not sure if they need to draft a QB. Milton hasn’t really gotten a chance yet. The coaches probably have a good idea, but we don’t.

The biggest elephant in the room is fixing the defense which was 95% of the reason for this years failures.

The Cowboys have to many holes. I can’t see them filling all of them in the offseason. Draft picks are crap shoots and the Joneses don’t like to use free agency. There are at least 8 teams in the NFC that have better rosters than we have. Don’t see the Cowboys being better than what they are now.

Offense is not the problem.

I don't think retaining Javonte Williams is a priority. If he is willing to take something like 2yrs/$12 million, I'll gladly have him back. If he wants franchise RB money, no thank you.

For the first half of the season, my impression of him was "holy crap this guy is amazing." More recently, I've felt like "he's a solid RB1." He has a really punishing style of running, like Zeke did. I think those guys wear down.

We basically have zero RB threat in the passing game. It is unfortunate that Blue for whatever reason, could not have filled that role.

Need to bring him back, he's your feature back and you need another back to help him

Remember some posters saying that Blue would be our Darren Sproles?

You forgot the major league baseball ranks. Chad Hutchinson and Drew Henson.

That is true by my omission of those past Mad Genius decisions, but I believe Cowboysny's focus is NFL draft darts only. It is why I would not include Jerry Jones approval of Sean Peyton's 'discovery' of Tony Romo. He would be an example of a purely free agency dart that was sane compared to Hutchinson and Henson.

I agree with your points in essence.

But idk how you are able to argue that both our tsckles are in need of an replacement/upgrade, we need to find a new RB and need to look out for Daks replacement sooner than later. But still consider this a few "tweaks".

Finding a good RB so good that Dak is able to perform on an acceptable level is not easy for our FO. They will meed to invest a high pick there.

Finding a RT is the same. We werent able to find a replacement for Tyron Smith with two of our last premium picks. So investing a ransom for the new RT is the least we can expect.

There is a reason Tylor Smith didnt beat out Tyron and therefor was demoted to play LG. You dont spent your premium pick to draft guards unless you are aware that you dont have any kind of clue judging oline talent. No we invested high because we wanted Tylor to be our next LT.

That didnt work out so we also drafted Guyton with our next premium pick to find our next LT. Just a further proof that Tyler Smith aint the solution at LT.

Point is: Tylor wont play LT in case Guyton stays as bad as he was in his first two seasons.

So no i dont think the offense lacks some tweaks. We may be able to survive against medicore teams with a new RT but if our goal is to achieve anything worth mentioning this offense needs upgrades at LT, RT, a new RB if williams doesnt return, at least one good TE and a way better center. If Pickens is not resigned you also need a replacement for him. All of our other draft picks at WR are not even worth to be played at the 3rd spot.

I dont wanna even start with the lower than medicore talent at QB psoition #1. But nobody here assumes we gonna win a championship with him anyways. So lets leave that topic out.

I personally don't think Williams will be back. He's been good for us this year, but in my opinion, we need a playmaker at running back next year.
