Offense just needs a few tweaks this offseason, if 2 return!

We will need 2 running backs, do we really think Williams will sign with us, he's going to test his value and sign with a team that can offer lots of money!!!!

Fix the tackle spots, move Guyton to RT, let him get better and better so he can be all-pro before and during his contract year comes, we resign him and make a huge mistake!!!

We need to get possibly another WR, one that's quick!!
RB market isn't usually good, very possible they can get him on a similar deal Dowdle received.

They definitely need to address the OT’s. That’s going to be a key this offseason. Jury’s still out on Guyton as he’s young and still developing. Steele needs to be replaced. I would also replace the OL coach. I disagree on the TE’s. I think they’re all solid. Not sure if they need to draft a QB. Milton hasn’t really gotten a chance yet. The coaches probably have a good idea, but we don’t.

The biggest elephant in the room is fixing the defense which was 95% of the reason for this years failures.
No doubt fixing the defense will be the top offseason priority, where the offense can be fixed with a few minor moves.

If there is a QB they like on day 3 to develop, makes sense. You never know when you can hit on the next Dak who was a late 4th rd pick.

The Cowboys have to many holes. I can’t see them filling all of them in the offseason. Draft picks are crap shoots and the Joneses don’t like to use free agency. There are at least 8 teams in the NFC that have better rosters than we have. Don’t see the Cowboys being better than what they are now.
Remember we have a young roster, players can improve with development. A player like Ez should see a nice 2nd yr jump.

I don't think retaining Javonte Williams is a priority. If he is willing to take something like 2yrs/$12 million, I'll gladly have him back. If he wants franchise RB money, no thank you.

For the first half of the season, my impression of him was "holy crap this guy is amazing." More recently, I've felt like "he's a solid RB1." He has a really punishing style of running, like Zeke did. I think those guys wear down.
Exactly, have a price and his number exceeds that, looks for another cheaper option.

Don’t think the contract for Williams is going to be to expensive. There are a lot of RB free agents this year.

I agree with your points in essence.

But idk how you are able to argue that both our tsckles are in need of an replacement/upgrade, we need to find a new RB and need to look out for Daks replacement sooner than later. But still consider this a few "tweaks".

Finding a good RB so good that Dak is able to perform on an acceptable level is not easy for our FO. They will meed to invest a high pick there.

Finding a RT is the same. We werent able to find a replacement for Tyron Smith with two of our last premium picks. So investing a ransom for the new RT is the least we can expect.

There is a reason Tylor Smith didnt beat out Tyron and therefor was demoted to play LG. You dont spent your premium pick to draft guards unless you are aware that you dont have any kind of clue judging oline talent. No we invested high because we wanted Tylor to be our next LT.

That didnt work out so we also drafted Guyton with our next premium pick to find our next LT. Just a further proof that Tyler Smith aint the solution at LT.

Point is: Tylor wont play LT in case Guyton stays as bad as he was in his first two seasons.

So no i dont think the offense lacks some tweaks. We may be able to survive against medicore teams with a new RT but if our goal is to achieve anything worth mentioning this offense needs upgrades at LT, RT, a new RB if williams doesnt return, at least one good TE and a way better center. If Pickens is not resigned you also need a replacement for him. All of our other draft picks at WR are not even worth to be played at the 3rd spot.

I dont wanna even start with the lower than medicore talent at QB psoition #1. But nobody here assumes we gonna win a championship with him anyways. So lets leave that topic out.
They drafted Tyler to play guard, he was forced to start at tackle as a rookie cause of Tyron's injury.

We still have a few young prospects at the tackle position, the hope is with more development they can take that next step. I would like to see an experience veteran to challenge Thomas for the starting job and move forward with Guyton, who just needs to be more available and consistent.

dude, Tyler smith was drafted to play LT
everyone including Rowdy knew that

I don't hate Guyton at RT, but they definitely need to bring in an upgrade at one of those spots. Fielding two bad tackles takes away the option of shading protection towards the weaker side, creating scenarios where we see guys like Terrence Steele and Nate Thomas are matched up 1-on-1 with Hutchinson and Crosby... not good. Honestly, I'm leaning heavily towards moving Tyler Smith to LT if it isn't addressed in a big way. The IOL has some depth to fall back on and Smith has proven he can be a massive upgrade over either of the current starters. FA guards are alot cheaper than tackles and decent contributors can be found later in the draft, freeing up the top two picks to address major liabilities on the defense.

I agree with you at RB. Love from ND is very tempting but I think they go EDGE and MLB early. Not sure who's going to be there on day 3, but hoping somebody falls likely leads to the same scenario we saw this season. Williams saved the day because Blue is a complete bust so far. I think we have to bring him back. Maybe Malik Davis can thrive in an extended role? Maybe the light comes on for Izzy? Too many question marks to not firmly address the position in free agency.

Franchising and trading Pickens is starting to sound like the right move. Flournoy is coming on late and GP hasn't done much in the last couple of games—big games. Pulling a 1st or a 2nd for his services opens up the draft in a big way and allows them to not fixate on one or two positions. Sign a speedy vet and line them up with Lamb and Flornoy. If OT is adequately addressed and the run game is still on place the offense should be fine. The saved cap space allows for allocations of funds towards the defense, making for a more balanced team.

Agreed. They should always be looking for the next guy. Romo wasn’t even drafted so you never know.

I personally don't think Williams will be back. He's been good for us this year, but in my opinion, we need a playmaker at running back next year.
A playmaker, that can also block. Williams' makes up for dome of the issues at Tackle.
Bring him and Pickens back and draft/Fa improvement to upgrade thd D.

I hear you. I'm interested to see what Abinakanda has. He's still young. Now would be the time for him.

Could you get a first and a 3rd for Pickens? I don't know. But the conversation for me would begin there. We're talking a top player at his position. These guys don't grow on trees.

Would have to be early first.

We basically have zero RB threat in the passing game. It is unfortunate that Blue for whatever reason, could not have filled that role.
I'm not sure that he can't. But for this year, they can't have him learning on the job. Once we're knocked out of the playoffs, I think it would be a good idea to bring in the rookie RBs for the rest of the year.

EZ has a long way to go to become a star. The Kneeland pick hurt as bad as the other second round busts over the years. RIP but it hurt us. We have to replace him with another top pick.

This board is incredibly unfit to run a team.

Dak is an overpaid bus driver. We need to focus on the run game and defense until we can move on from him.

Paying Pickens would be another bad mistake in a long line of mistakes by Jethro.

Spending a top 3 round pick on another oline is a huge mistake.

Try to sign Williams for a 3 year 15 mil deal. Draft Love. Trade the GB pick. Get a rush end/LB and safety in rnd 2.

FA get another safety and LB. Maybe a vet possession reciever.

With that, we may have a chance. Along with a new DC.

Still comes down to Dak and I still think he isnt they guy who can win a big game for you.
