sounds like mafah....too bad they shelved himIn regards to RB they need to stop being cute, speed isn't everything. Look for a powerful guy with great balance who can make a defender miss.
So we want to babysit another QB for 11 years so we can waste a play-off calibre team over and over again? No doubt fixing the defense will be the top offseason priority, where the offense can be fixed with a few minor moves.
If there is a QB they like on day 3 to develop, makes sense. You never know when you can hit on the next Dak who was a late 4th rd pick.
I need to see him play, he looked good in pre-season. But yes that is what they need.sounds like mafah....too bad they shelved him
yet we had to watch davis get smacked around on pass pro with the season on the line...didn't help that our fb got a concussion on a damn special teams play.I need to see him play, he looked good in pre-season. But yes that is what they need.
I like this idea. Giving the backup QB some reps would be wise as well.I'm not sure that he can't. But for this year, they can't have him learning on the job. Once we're knocked out of the playoffs, I think it would be a good idea to bring in the rookie RBs for the rest of the year.
show meHe was not, they said it on draft night he was drafted to play guard.
I would do 2 years 12 million. Some of that 12 million being incentivesI don't think retaining Javonte Williams is a priority. If he is willing to take something like 2yrs/$12 million, I'll gladly have him back. If he wants franchise RB money, no thank you.
For the first half of the season, my impression of him was "holy crap this guy is amazing." More recently, I've felt like "he's a solid RB1." He has a really punishing style of running, like Zeke did. I think those guys wear down.
I would try to trade Schoonmaker for whatever pick we can get because we have Ferguson and Spann-Ford. I also like the tight end we're carrying on the practice squad, Fairweather.Retaining Pickens/Javonte Williams is the offense priority this offseason. You want to keep continuity and build upon this season's success. Some tweaks are needed:
-Must figure out the Tackle position. Guyton is always hurt and Steele is a major liability in pass protection. Thomas has taken that next step in his development, from end of the roster to a serviceable swing tackle with upside. They always have the option of moving Tyler Smith to tackle, but the interior is their strength.
-#2 Running back-Blue has been a major bust, where he was a healthy scratch for the majority of the season. Must add competition to the spot. Adding a change of pace, speedy type would be ideal. Would you bring back Pollard if released on the cheap?
-Depth at TE-Span Ford has developed into a good blocking TE, but Schoon just hasn't taken that next step being a former 2nd rd selection. If there is a good TE on day 3, good idea to upgrade the position.
-Future Franchise QB-it is time to start throwing darts at the board looking for Dak's eventual replacement.

Wow so a 5th round pick isn't making an impact yet so he is a bust?????Blue has been a major bust
It is a great idea and exactly why we won't do it.I'm not sure that he can't. But for this year, they can't have him learning on the job. Once we're knocked out of the playoffs, I think it would be a good idea to bring in the rookie RBs for the rest of the year.

I dont even think we need Pollard, hopefully Blue can develop. This idea of obtaining a Tackle is fanciful......that's why Williams is so important, he provides the security for Dak, Similarly, he may not get the targets, but Pickens (as Belt said) was there on his routes (apart from Lions game),,,,,its not as if you need a perfect throw and he takes Safety coverage away.Good post!
**** Tag Pickens
**** Bring Pollard and pair him with Williams back ( Titans will likely release him.....this is the final year of any guarantee money)
**** I'm releasing Steele and replacing him with a low-level free agent ( can't play much worse, but at least say money)
****I'm a minority, but I think Schoon is better than some think. He needs more opportunities.
**** Agree with drafting a QB with a late rounder to push Milton
His blocking is the difference maker and having him on the field doesnt telegraph the play (and offsets some of the issues at Tackle). I bet Blue's problem is that he needs to learn how to help in protecting the QB.I don't think retaining Javonte Williams is a priority. It's the moving Safeties that kills us ever time...... will they/wont they blitz/or retreat in coverage (or the alternative Cover 2, with one of the Safeties coming down). It's why we appear to struggle against good teams good defences.....because The Book has already been written......BUT THAT's WHY WE NEED TO DICTATE PLAY AND WE CAN ONLY DO THAT WITH A DEFENSE THAT ALLOWS US TO PLAY WITH A LEAD (CAPS for effect).Yes it is. The red zone offense is terrible. And they can’t seem to beat zone blitzes. The Cardinals , Vikings did the same thing. Maybe it’s a coaching issue. But the offense has underperformed in many instances.
Oh I know they won't. Dak should play the first quarter of the next two games. Then Milton finishes them off along with the last game. Both rookie RBs should get a lot of time. The starting TE and our two top WRs should play sparingly. It is a great idea and exactly why we won't do it.
