Go on record here...He's bound to be fired in Houston they way they are playing....

Capers would be an AWESOME D/C running the 3/4 Defense....

Zimmer MUST GO and Peyton right along with him...

Yep, he is close to a sure thing to get fired sometime before next season, and would be perfect D coordinator for 3-4. Why parcells didnt make a move to get someone this year is a huge question, I think he is being overloyal. but there have to be changes made.

Why would he be an awesome coordinator? Because he's the only 3-4 guy who might be out there?

Houston's defense has stunk ever since he got there.

Sometimes good coordinators are poor head coaches, but they should at least be good on their own side of the ball... Like Gregg Williams was at Buffalo.

I'm not the biggest Zimmer fan, but outside of the two plays in the Washington game, I don't see why he should be fired for this season.

If anybody has been a bit more questionable, it's been Payton.

it isnt just this season. zimm is way too conservative the past years. then add on top of that we switched to a 3-4 where zimmer is used to a 4-3 his whole career, and that makes for a good firing situation

I wouldn't be against Capers being our DC, but I don't necesarily want to see Zimmer fired. Basically I would accept Capers being our DC.

I've always thought he was a good coach, just not a good head coach. He's always had to start from scratch and ends up doing fairly well...considering.

Their first year, Houston had a good defense. Their defense is what led them to their few wins. Each year since, they haven't been quite as good. But they haven't been putrid either. Their offense has and that puts a lot of pressure on the defense.

There are some that just plain hate Zimmer. Everything is his fault and when the defense does something well, he gets no credit at all.

This was Dallas worst offensive performance of the year. The defense kept the team in the game. Could they play better? Yes. There can be improvements in the d-line, the linebackers and the secondary. But they did some things well. They made up for terrible coverage early against Moss. They held Collins to his poorest game of the season. He only had 218 yards of which 79 came on one play early in the game.

The rookies are doing more. The veterans are adjusting to the system. This thing isn't going to come together in just the first 4 weeks of the season. It is a project that is evolving and growing. I think the final product will be something special and we were start seeing good signs of it after the bye week.

Aaron Glenn would be a good sounding board for Parcells and Jerry on that one, since he played for Capers for several seasons. Marcus Coleman and Ryan Young would be two other former players of his that Bill could contact for a perspective.

I personally like Capers a lot, and I think he's improved Houston every year he's been there (and the W/L record reflects it too). Perhaps Palmer as OC was their problem, they moved the ball better yesterday with Pendry calling the shots.

I am no fan of Palmer, but Houston's problem is their offensive line. They have ignored their line to build up the rest of the team. Part of it is bad luck. They tried Boselli and he just couldn't get healty. (How come they can rebuild knees, but not shoulders?) Although they kind of knew not to expect too much from Tony. It was a deal to grab Walker for thier d-line. They tried signing Orlando Pace in the off season, but couldn't get it done. Their offensive line is terrible. Even worse than what Dallas showed yesterday. :)

I would be all for Capers to be our DC. Anyone who would wanna stay with Zimmer over Capers wins the Kool Aid drinker of the century award.
