Garrett doesn't get his players ready to play. Even the starters look lost out there at times and struggle with fundamentals but backups who should be ready to fill in don't know their assignments either. Tanner comes in and completely runs the wrong direction on a play that should have been a play action fake, then he whiffs on a block.
Meanwhile Coughlin has some guy named Stevie Brown come in and look like a superstar at safety. There is a culture of unpreparedness and zero accountability. No one feels any real pressure to perform to perfection so it's no surprise you see the same errors every week.
And that is just the game prep aspect of Garrett's flaws as a coach. His playcalling is another story
