Ok, I'm a Kool-Aid drinker. I've never seen such classless whining loser fans as this board (or the other Cowboys boards). Geez, at least when the Skins got blown out by the Giants, the folks at Extremeskins still believed & supported the team.
So I'll point this out. The team is already at 8 wins. That means no losing season. Do you realize that's only the SECOND time in SIX seasons that's happened? (Guess when the other time was--oh yeah, under the same coach everyone is so happily bashing right now.) There's no reason the team can't end up 9-7 or even 10-6.
The defense got a lot of young players over the offseason who will contribute for a long time. They've gotten invaluable learning experience. They'll be even better next year, particularly with some seasoning. It'll be the OL that gets overhauled this offseason. And yes, probably some assistant coaches go bye-bye.
I find it hilarious that so many posters on this board were bashing Parcells on Saturday over an unsubstantiated rumor that he may go to Detroit. Now those same fans want him gone.
Just out of curiousity--Holmgren has been coaching in Seattle how long now? Oh yes, 6 years. It's taken him that long to build up a team that's a solid contender. Hmmm--but Parcells is a bum & a loser because he hasn't done it in three.
And Dungy has had Manning for how long? And all of a sudden they're looking vulnerable. Guess who's looking like a contender again--the Patriots WITH BP's players (like, ahem, Bruschi) back. I'm willing to bet they're in the AFC Championship game against the Colts. So Dungy must be a loser too, right? Since he didn't get them to the Super Bowl in 3 years?
Yes, this was a very disappointing loss. Hopefully, the players will learn from it. One other little item to think about--last week, the Chargers lose to Miami. At home. This week, they beat the Colts. In Indy. Anything can happen on any given Sunday.
