Our inability to win at our home stadium is why we are behind the 8 ball and are facing a must win next week. Just look at the home records of the contenders in the NFC.

Green Bay............................6-0
Detroit...................................6-1
Arizona.................................7-0
Seattle..................................5-1
Philadelphia..........................6-1
Dallas...................................3-4

We have more home losses than all the other NFC contenders combined. In fact, if you even want to throw in the NFC South leader, this is their home record.

Atlanta (currently leading the NFC South).................3-3 at home

Not only are we the only playoff contender with a losing record at home, we are the only team in the NFL that has a losing record at home and is above 500.

Like your post.
Also, consider the odds are stacking against the Cows to have an undefeated road record. It just isn't going to happen and what worse time to lose any game road or home......

Exactly.................if only we had beat the Skins, that one extra win right now would be so huge.......................and the real kick in the nuts is that the Skins have not won a single game since that night............LOL

In a year where teams might miss the playoffs with 11 wins and make it with 5 or 6 to me that's just an oddball year.

The NFC is going to be tough for the next few year with the rise of Detroit and AZ. 11-5 might be the norm for a Wildcard spot.

2 of those losses were a result of Romo being injured and not being able to play.

Just stating facts..................feel free to go to NFL.com if you think the home records I listed are wrong.....................you will indeed see that we are the only playoff contender with a losing record at home.

Like I said, just stating facts.

Oh, I know they're right. I just don't care. The road wins count the same as the home ones, so, so what? We lost most of those games because the teams we played were good, not because they were home games.

We haven't lost to a blue team. You don't see me creating a thread about it. That's because I don't believe the color of the uniforms we're playing against has anything to do with us winning or losing. It's a coincidence.

If that's the case I hope we don't see anymore sub .500 playoff teams for a while then.

Perspective.

5 Playoff contending teams are a combined 30-3.

Dallas is 3-4 at home.

We may need to win the division just to get in.

Which gives us a home game... think of all the talk in the media and on this board if Dallas loses another home playoff game.
Hell, Romo might go the way of Don Meredith and say screw it, I quit.

Hope.

It is possible that Dallas can continue winning after that cold Chicago night. rail off 7 wins in a row and hoist the Trophy...
and Romo could be the MVP with trophy in hand and a middle finger up for all the doubters.

Opinion.

You know the saying... everybody's got one... some just like to mouth off about it more than others.... and its okay as long as you're a staff member on this board
to belittle anyone else's opinion.

Hey, RoboQB. So nice to see you're back.

I wasn't belittling his opinion. I was disagreeing with it. Our losses are the real reason we might miss the playoffs. Not the fact that the losses happened at home. That's the point I was making. I actually have a lot of respect for Beast and what he contributes to the board.

So we are the only playoff contender with a losing home record because the teams we played at home were good teams?

Every other playoff contender played bad teams at home?

Color me skeptical that we have played harder teams at home than every other playoff contender.

Not that, necessarily. We happened to win our biggest game up in SEA on the road. But if you look at the losses one by one, I think there are reasons we lost each game that were much more significant than the fact that the games were at home. SF we lost because of Romo's first-half picks in play action when he clearly wasn't not himself. AZ we lost because, Brandon Weeden. You don't really think we win that game with Weeden if it were played in AZ, do you? The PHI game we just lost because we were clearly unprepared and again Romo played poorly after the short turnaround. It would have been worse, though, if we'd come back early Mon morning from the East coast game in NY and flew back out to PHI. Not better. If anything, having that Thanksgiving game at home was a benefit.

Washington is the one game I look at and think it might have been better off if that one were a road game. The way that game was sandwiched after the SEA/GIANTS game and before the AZ game, it was a bit of a classic trap (a bad team in between two better ones). Having that game on the road might have helped us focus on the challenge a little bit better. But even that's less the issue because the game was at home and more the issue because we weren't really prepared to play them at our very best. That's the game where we had the blown blitz pickups and the drops by Dez, Wit, and Williams at key points that either cost us points or ended up killing drives.

Thanks for a highly intellectual, well thought out response that contributed to the discussion of this topic.................this board needs more quality posts like this.:muttley:

That was meant to be directed at Idgit...... it is his favorite quote.... if you read my above post, you'd see that we are in agreement.
