Dark Light - Monster/Sci Fi type of show that might gain some interest to some but in the end It feel way flat for me and the idea that all of this was happening in or below the house that the girl basically grew up in but none of it happened when she was young irritated me.

Coffee and Kareem - lame name play for the movie title so was not expecting much. However I have to say as silly as it was, it did make me laugh a few times. Very crude and adult humor so not one to watch with the kids.

Poltergeist 2 (freebie on Youtube movies) - Have not seen this movie in years. It was not as good as the first back in the day nor now. However the old man singing god is in his holy temple still gives me the serious creeper vibes. However I forgot how cheesy the ending fight scene was and it even looks worse now. Also love the very end of the film when the little lady is there then she seems to disappear lol.

what is it about Netflix that the likes of Hulu, Sling, Amazon, just cannot compete with them ...? yeh even Disney too.

what continues to set them *Netflix) apart from the rest of the wild wild west of Stream World ?
largest libraries.
content is king.

i like prime and hulu but neither touch the content of netflix.
10x as much original/new content.

yeh, that's right, and thanks .. i'm coming up with a ton of free movies on YouTube,.. and especially since i am really big on classics, cult classics and martial arts films . :D

BTW, You can also see classic movies like Poltergeist 2 ..and even classic TV Shows and Documentaries for free on Tubi as well. Its a free app, and loaded with classic movies, including old westerns and cult classics as well.

and i please encourage anyone to recommend me some classic movies or unsung, rarely heard from movies that went under the radar that I and many didnt know
about. Many times i never knew these movies, shows, or documentaries even existed.
Until i see them pop up on YouTube and TubiTV.

I have Roku but I would imagine you can also find some of these channels on other streaming devices.

Tubi
Crackle
FilmRise
Pluto TV

Those are some channels that have free content with ads.

Oh and a channel on youtube that shows some cheesy old b movies from the 80's and 90's
Not the best quality or choice but there are a few of the cult classics in there...

https://www.youtube.com/user/SECONDbiggestFAN/videos

thanks - i'm already seeing two from these 80's - 90's flicks that i've enjoyed in the old school past in Carbon Copy and Reformed School Girls
(which is really a B-movie female prison flick and i guess the studio wanted that Reform school title appeal to it )

as far Carbon Copy it featured Denzel Washington, it was fun to see Denzy getting one of his early starts in a low budget movie such as this.
Even the biggest stars have to start out somewhere.

i wanna see Meatballs as it has been decades since i've seen it and i've forgotten most of it.

i hope i get to see " Electric Dreams " movie as well as " Watch It " on one of these tubes, that i adored growing up to see back in the days .... :p

I've not checked out FilmRise but I will now. Browsed Tubi, along with Roku channel and a few others that may still be around. Lot of overlap in those channels with the same content when I was checking them out. Crackle is pretty good as it usually has a different selection. And I like Pluto TV minus the odd commercial placements at times.

Yes a good deal of overlap in movies.

Rarely have time for T.V. other than sports, but all this stay at home stuff has forced me to explore Netflix more than normal. Let me talk about a few things I've enjoyed:

All American- Inspired by the true story of former NFL player Spencer Paysinger. Season 1 detailed the story of him transferring from South Crenshaw to Beverly Hills to play high school football. Season 2 picks up after he wins the state Championship for Beverly Hills. The story line is good and the characters are very likeable. The acting is pretty bad, especially the football scenes. You can tell these guys never actually played. But its a little show with some emotional twist and turns.

Ozark (Season 3)- For some reason I just didn't enjoy this season as much as the others. The story of the brother just took over whole season. I really like the casino business being brought into it, and should make for some interesting story lines going forward. Just wish they would have focused less on the brother.

Tiger King- We are not talking about this enough on this thread. This documentary is best described as a beautiful disaster. These people are insanely amusing to follow. And to think this only happened a few hours north of DFW. I could go on and on about this but i'll keep it short. Joe Exotic was set up and coerced into the murder for hire thing. 22 years is a little excessive for his role in that. Carole killed her husband, and probably fed him to the tigers. Sardine oil? Again I could talk all day about this one. I encourage anyone to watch it all the way through.

Just started The Outsider, HBO series, and am through 4 episodes and it definitely has that Stephen King vibe to it. Pieces are still falling together but this is why I wait until I've got all the episodes on the DVR before proceeding. I would not like this in weekly installments. Had to do GOT weekly or risk spoilers but I watched the preceding episode before the new one to keep it fresh in my mind.

The Netflix/Amazon model of all of the season's episodes released at once works for me.

Schitts Creek finished their final season last night. I am really going to miss that show. It was a great series. The writers were excellent. TV viewing is at a loss without this show. I love Alexis. There were times Johnny Rose would ask Alexis a question and my Alexa in the room would answer. This series may be one of my all time favorites with Fraser and Mash.

I am waiting for that final season to make it over to Netflix. I agree, great characters and writing.

I like Daniel Levy's explanation that it's not, and wasn't intended to be, a sitcom, it's a drama with characters with funny quirks. If there's a show that didn't overstay it's welcome and left the fans wanting more, it's Schitt's Creek.

Yea I thought when Joe got attached by the Tiger because of the cologne, her response was they should have used Sardine Oil. That was interesting. That show was just a train wreck you had to see through to the end.

I am 4 episodes into Season 3 of Ozark. Seems like the intensity level is really up this year. They do a good job instilling that fear factor in the episodes. Batemen and Linny are really good actors.

You're absolutely correct about Ozark. You're in for a ride the rest of the season. And those two are so good in this show. They are so believable as a married couple. Spot on acting.

Update, The Outsider went from a possible 7 to a 3 and the casting was really off.

Looked like to me they were trying to channel True Detective without the acting chops.

No, I do not recommend. Unless I don't like you, in which case I recommend you buy the Blu Ray set when it comes out.

Netflix - The Ruthless (watch with subtitles if you don’t speak Italian). Great movie with a Goodfellas vibe.

Love, Marriage, Repeat on Netflix. 8/10, this movie was a lot of fun and some great lines, particularly from the women in it. The only actor I recognized in it was Olivia Munn, the little hottie, but I will keep my eye out for the others that were in it. It was a good ensemble cast and cleverly done.
