After weeks of trying to get a draft choice for quarterback David Carr, the Texans have decided to release the five-year veteran, making him an unrestricted free agent who can sign with any team in the league.

The Texans also are releasing running back Domanick Williams (formerly Davis), their former leading rusher who has been unable to play because of a knee injury.

An announcement is expected later today

Not with a bang, but with a whimper... :(

Odd.

The Texans got less for David Carr than they got for Drew Henson.

Yes and no. The third they got from Dallas went to the Raiders along with a second as part of the Philip Buchannon deal.

The Texans can't win for losing.

I see Carr flourishing with another team, provided that they have a decent O-Line. Carr spent his five years in Houston running for his life. The Texans are the Keystone Cops of the NFL.
