Here at BTB, we understand that offseason rankings are a bit silly, though most of us at least have curiosity as to who thinks what. Maybe it has something to do with being spurned before, but folks are all over the map when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. Those same Cowboys that rode a powerful offensive formula to a 13-3 season on the backs of a rookie quarterback-running back duo are hard to decipher for some of these experts, so today we’re going to look at two completely different offseason projections, just to show how divided people tend to be in the offseason.

First up, Andy Benoit, from MMQB, believes the Cowboys had the worst offseason of any team in the NFC East. He gave the Cowboys a C+ for their work, but the way he arrives at his grade really leaves more to be desired. Other than him pronouncing the Cowboys as NFC North Champions (maybe because Cowboys beat all the NFC North teams, simple mistake), there are other things that don’t make much sense.

Here's what will happen

1) We'll start off slow. Many CZ users will be jumping off bridges.
2) Towards the end of the season we're one of the better teams in the league and win the NFC East.

Guaranteed.

Without Hankins I like our ability to run on the Giants. The secondary is going to be more cohesive than people think even with 1 of the rookies starting or playing nickel. Eli's game has gone into the toilet and they still don't have an oline or RB. We have a good shot to win week 1.

This is going to not be a 13-3 type of year. 10-6 or 9-7 Is what I'd expect. I do not think we will win or lose more than 3 games in a row. Our secondary is quite wet behind the ear and will struggle at times with giving up big plays.

In the end, I think we will be in the NFC Campionshop game or better though.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I am predicting the opposite. I think finishing out strong will be a problem for this team. No reason, just a gut feeling.

Any offseason ranking (Benoit's) that has the Giants with the best offseason of the NFC East is to be questioned. Every team in the division attempted to address needs in the offseason - We needed DEs and CBs, we drafted for it. Commanders needed DL and defensive help and some WR help after Garcon and Jackson left. They attempted to address it in the draft and FA. Eagles needed CBs and WRs, they addressed that in FA and draft.

Giants? They needed OL help. DJ Fluker? That's all they got?

No, there is a reason...and similar to the media, Dallas has to first pass an abstract obstacle of stereotyped failure.

my predictions hasn't changed I think they win between 8 and 10 games and miss the playoffs until the defense and coaching improves the things that have caused them to lose big games in the last 10 years will continue

I dont understand the 8 or 9 win predictions.

How do you come to these conclusions. Is it based on the youth in the secondary? These kids are as mentaly tough as they come. I would also say they are every bit as athletic as Carr and Claiborne. Strctly from an athletic standpoint DB is one of the easier positions to make a transition to the NFL from college.

We still have our bread and Butter. The Offense. The oline may actually be better.

Dont underestimate the fact that Cooper was a top 10 pick at the Guard position which is practically unheard of.

He was drafted by a team that has been highly successful at evaluating talent. He was then traded to another team known for evaluating talent ( He was traded for a pretty good player in Collins)

Then hes picked up plays a couple weeks in a new system and performs very well.

Only to be dropped by a team known for not knowing talent

This is going to be the best Combination of OLine yet. The depth is sick.

Anything less then 11 games would be underachieving

The defense is in rebuilding mode. Tons of changes and it will take awhile to put it all together. It may not even happen this year.

We have a 14 win offense and an 7-8 win defense. Put it together and I see approximately a 10 win team.

And as always, injuries will be a wild card.

So suddenly ball control by running isn't going to win us games along with more continuity in the passing game. If we want to discuss about the defense, it's a bend but don't break. Opponent receivers aren't running behind the secondary for quick scores.
