I guess I'm dumb, but I don't see how a guy that tested this well is undrafted. Note: his shuttle time is the top among all receivers and his 20 yard time is right there with the top guy.

There must be something we're missing or some character flaw. I don't think he got along that well with his college coaches. His written analysis says he lacks a top gear, but how can he run 4.36 and lack a top gear.

Anybody have any further info?

There were alot of WRs with potential in the past draft and he was from an offense that didn't produce extremely high numbers. He also didn't have coveted size.

He should have been drafted and most certainly would have been one of the next names off the board.

If you watch the tape of him, he dropped a couple of passes and looked unfocussed in some of the drills.

he was considered lazy and cocky at virginia and didn't have a top notch college career. didn't play in 2007 because of an acl tear which is always a big red flag. never made much of an impact in big games. finished with 1 catch for like 4 yards against va tech.

was also a pretty poor kick return guy. averaged about half of what felix did returning kicks in college.

was advised to go back to school but came out anyway.

will probably be better next year or the year after once he gets more seasoning.

Plus he had a major knee injury, wasn't extremely productive and came out after his junior season.

He was worthy of being drafted, and he probably should have been drafted, but it's easy to see why he slipped through.

40yd time does not measure what someones top gear is. All the 40 does is indicate what someones quickness is

Seems to me ones quickness is better evaluated by the shuttle than the fourty.Quickness and top end speed are not the same in my opinion.

He had a severe knee injury

in fact in OTAs ogletree was doing good in practices but his knee had some nerve damage injury in some fashion, so he missed a week or so, that set him back, then he recovered, thats why he didnt get drafted,

his knee injury issue;

I agree. Not only that, they also time the first ten yards in a 40 yard dash IIRC. That is more of an indicator of quickness.

Also, I think the shuttle drill is used to measure agility in change of direction.

In addition to the knee injury, he also did not play in a WR friendly system and he had some BAD quarterbacks throwing to him. His numbers were not that good. Combined w/the injury, his stock dropped him out of the draft.

Could be another Austin for us, keeping the fingers crossed. The kids a worker though, and is very technically sound.

Boldin of the Cards didn't have a good combine. Was deemed too slow hence his draft pick.

Look at him.

Save the combine crap, what can the guy do on the field when he gets his chances.

There appears to be a pretty high correlation between Combine performance and NFL performance.

Not exactly a surprising concept. Better athlete usually means better football player.

He admits that he wasn't always the hardest worker in College and he said that it is the biggest thing he has tried to change.

He is a baller and will be a contributer.

If only the Cowboys would play him.

I have been saying for 6 weeks now to play Ogetree.

Even if the Cowboys would have drafted Desean Jackson, he would still be on their bench. Play the rookie and let's see what he's got.

Seems as if that applies to Olgetree. He tested well at the combine, but did not do enough on the field when he got his chances. Some of that was due to injury and some was due to Al Groh being a terrible coach.

I think everyone needs to temper their expectations for this kid. I too am eager to get him some real game work and see what he has.

But I also think he does drop catchable passes and is limited in his abilities to move for/with the ball. He does have the speed to seperate which should get him many opportunities to make a big play. But he's no Greg Jennings.
