An EXCELLENT analysis, my man... very well done...

One of these days, the Cavs are gonna get themselves another Matt Schaub, then watch out...

Thanks!

I'd settle for four full years of Vic Hall in the spread.

i would take 4 years of farrior, sharper and poindexter back there on d and add in a little chris long and sintim. I live and die Cav football just like cowboys football.

If Stanback, Hurd and Austin have taught me anything it's that I'm not getting worked up for any rookie WRs until they impress in games

I get tired of people who start multiple threads to ask the same question, real quick... apparently the mods feel the same way, with the way they merge threads...

There are almost too many threads to wade through on the best of days without having to wade through completely redundant threads...

Guess it wouldn't have occurred to him, or apparently, you, to PM those two...

And just for the record, I'm a big UVa fan, so I'm excited to have Kevin on the team, and hopeful that he can nail down a spot either on the roster or worst case scenario, the practice squad... I'm also eager for any news about his performance, or his chances...

Also for the record, I have in the past given cowboyjoe gentle grief for doing this exact same thing, and he's one of my favorite posters in here...
this thread is full of

Good analysis, we also picked up Kevin Ogletree who was rated higher than Manuel Johnson and who was also at UVA with John Garrett. If he's healthy he will beat out Johnson.
Why did we draft Manuel Johnson instead of Kevin Ogletree?

Is Johnson viewed as a better slot candidate?

Ogletree seems to have a much higher upside.

I have a feeling that it's Hurds spot that we're looking to improve. He hasn't been much to speak of. Last year he was nearly invisible. Austin will get one more year to show something....but he's at least a kick returner, and a pretty good one at that. Hurd is pretty much special teams and not so special receiver.

Well, the Hokies have a bit of an advantage, they don't mind signing criminals...

And of course, at UVa, the players actually have to go to CLASS...

I heard Ogletree was worth 10 Danny Amendola's.

Seriously people. Don't unrealistically hype up our undrafted free agents. Ogletree will have to count his lucky stars if he can even make the practice squad, much less the 53 man roster.

Exactly. Every year, there is a pet player picked to be the "great" unknown to make the team, AND make an impact. And it always seems to be a WR [since that's what we needed so bad lately].

If it works, that's great for the player and for the team. But I'll hold out to see what happens. And even if he makes the teams 53 man roster. How often will he be active at first. It's a big leap from an UDFA to leap frog to get playing time.

Really? I never knew the Cowboys wr corps was that solid. IMO Ogltree easily makes the team as the #5 wr.

I actually think Hurd is safe, while Hurd is no burner, he catches the ball well and is a solid special teamer. IMO the guy the Boys are looking to light a fire under is Stanbeck. He, Stanbeck, has not showed anything. I know hes been injured, but as we know, after 3 years you have to show something or they usually replace you.

Yeah and last year a ton of people seemed to have penciled Amandola in as our slot receiver as well. He didn't even make our team.

Wrong.

He was a member of the practice squad all year. Where he was then signed by the Eagles...and people "pencil in" players they think might make the team every year. What's wrong with that? What's wrong with thinking Ogletree has a shot?

Nothing. They're just guesses.
