Sunday we are going to find out once and for all how good the Dallas corners are. Harrison and Wayne vs T.New and Henry. Which group will win?

In other words, we're completely and totally screwed

I believe we have a good a shot to beat Indy, but turnovers, like always, but especially in this game will mean all the difference in the world in the outcome.
One thing that may seem insignifigant to most will be who gets the first possesion.
Dallas needs the opening drive, pound it out, T.O.P, grind it out and take 7m off the clock and piut up 7,,,,, not 3.
Field goals will not win this game,, in the red we need 7 or bust.
If Indy takes the opening drive and goes down the field in 4 plays and scores at will against this secondary, than we will most likely loose.
Pounding the ball down INdys throat early will take a lot of wind out of their sails.
Indy scoring quickly and easily through the air, will do the same to us.

Many may disagree, but I remember a similar game at home last year that no one gave us a chance in either (against the Chiefs). The Chiefs, at that point were putting points on the board at will against EVERY team they faced. Indy seems to be playing down to the competition (see the 17-16 win over the Bills). This team is much more dangerous, offensively, than last year's group. At that point it becomes a matter of defense. I'll take ours over Indy's any day. Not many people are giving us a chance against the mighty Manning and Co., but I actually think we can conceivably win this game, shoot-out or not.

You take Peyton off this team and replace him with 95% of the other starting QB's in this league, and you have a loosing team.
Realize how well this guy can disect any D in the league.
He is that good, he is the colts.
No, Im not in love with the guy, but I do realize that he has evolved into one of the elite field generals that this game has ever seen.
Peyton will audabalize every play, and exploit weakneses,, thats what will kill you.
Yes,,,, the "on any given sunday" rule still applies even to the Colts,, but unless you can take Peyton out of his game,,, which nobody has done yet this season, you either have to have incredible luck, or a pass rush,,, neither of which the Cowboys are familiar with.
skinsscalper;1167127 said:I agree with you to an extent, but you can still take a lick from Manning and win. We took a lick from Larry Johnson (the bulk of KC's attack last year) and still eeked out a win. Manning is a whole different animal, I know, but the fact remains that we can still go toe to toe with Manning and have a shot. As good as Manning is, he's not as dominant a player as Johnson was last year. He can get the job done, no doubt, but he needed a last minute drive against a Denver team that has nowhere near the offensive weapons that Dallas has. I think we can take them. I also think that it's just as likely that they take us (and maybe more so). But, I'm sick of hearing how bad Dallas is going to get beat this week. I don't buy it for one minute, and I think we have a hell of a lot better chance than most people give us.

Offensively and Defensively in the top ten in the league, Dallas is an intimidating matchup, nobody can deny that.
I just dont see this game even being close.
Either our Defense shows up, and plays lights out, and keeps Manning and company below 13 points, or they blow us out like 34-10.
This game will not be a close game, mark my words.
What has me worried is the D scheme.
If we lay back in a soft zone, Manning will shred this secondary.
Zimmer needs to take of the gloves and bury some knuckles up against Mannings head, if we have a shot.
You have to get him out of his comfort zone, and that is no easy task.

Typhus;1167182 said:If we put up a good fight and lose on a final drive, then I still think an arguement could be made that we are up there, but if we get blown out, then it's pretty much assured that this team isn't much more than a pretender, at this point.
What You just said in that last paragraph is what weighs heavy on Cowboy Nation this week.
This is reality week.
skinsscalper;1167184 said:I'm sure that the Chargers and Steelers would disagree. Come back and talk trash when your team actually does something in a game that matters. Regular season Champs, Playoff Chumps. 'Ol reliable Peyton (oh Harrison and Wayne too).
