We need defense.. All things equal I want defense. I just don't want a ho hum defensive player over a bigtime offensive player.

Tight end is more crucial in this offense than ever before with the zone run scheme.

Zeke getting the edge, a vertical threat to take away a safety, and just the fact that Dak likes throwing to TEs is enough of a reason to want 1.

A young stud TE does a ton for this offense.

If my draft slot does not align with taking a defensive player over an offensive player I am working the entire time i'm on the clock or when it becomes obvious this is going to be the case to trade down.

Also people exaggerate how precisely ranked players are on draft boards.

Heard a lot about how Zeke was number 1 on our draft board and so we stayed true to our board. Zeke and Ramsey were in teh same tier on our draft board. And likely another defender and Howard will be the same.

No to offense in the first 3 rounds. NOOOOOOOOO

I like Evan engram a lot too. Possibly the best receiving TE in the draft. He's very much like Jordan reed. He would be my top choice and could probably be had at the end of round 3.

Unless we get great value, the Cowboys can't spend a 1st on an OT.

I've been saying this a lot at work while chatting with buddies about the upcoming draft, and TE is a position I have said I could see the Cowboys drafting. Witten is still playing great but time is fickle thing and he's up there in years. Bringing in a replacement now before he decides to hang it up as an understudy could pay off big in the years to come.

I compare it how the Chargers selected Hunter Henry last season and allowed him to play with Gates this year, they were a good combo and with our offense geared towards the run having a two-TE set to run play action off of with Dez on the outside would really open up the offense.

I know that defense is the bigger need, but picking at #28 is sort of late to get the real premier players at the positions we need them in.
