Both conditional.

The Titans would receive a 2009 fourth-round pick IF Adam Jones is on the team all of 2008 and does not receive any disciplinary action. (If the condition is not met, the Titans receive a sixth-round pick and the deal is completed.)

If the first condition is met, then the Titans would receive a 2010 fourth-round pick IF Adams Jones is on the team all of 2009 and does not receive any disciplinary action. (If the condition is not met, the Titans do not receive any other draft pick.)

That is the only way I would cut a deal for what they are asking. If they could not live with the "risk" of not getting a good draft pick, then so be it since we are taking on the risk of trading for a suspended player who would be on a no-tolerance policy with the league.

Why cut any deal? Tenn evidently plans on releasing Pacman why pay for a player who is going to get released anyways?

At this point, I would give them 3 rolls of pre tape and two practice balls and call it a day.

The Titans are out of their ever lovin' minds.

I agree. Who else is in the market for Pacman? I am not even sure if he can stay in the league because he can't stay out of trouble. If I were JJ, I stand pat on my 5 or 6 rounder this yr or a conditional 6 rounder which can become a 5 rounder if he gets reinstated and plays for the ENTIRE season without getting suspended or violate ANY policies.

Remember, we got the winning hand. Titans are just trying to bluff their way to recoup their investment.....................be smart JJ!

Of all the conditional scenarios, I've seen so far, I have to say that I do like yours the best. Having said that, they would have to accept the deal and I doubt they would because the issue of Bonus Money is one of there wants as well as multiple picks.

Personally, I am not in favor of giving up any additional picks. 5th and thats probably where I would keep it.

I would tell Tenn keep him or cut him your choice. Tenn does not want him why pay a team for a player they want to rid themselves of?

If they absolutely want something this year, I agree totally. If they want us to assume the risk without giving us a way not to get burned by it, then a fifth is all they deserve, at the most.

As far as the bonus money goes, that should be something they take up with the league and Adam Jones. I'm not even sure there is precedent for having a team pay another team bonus money, but under the salary cap, it is an unrealistic demand.

The more I think about it, the more I believe the suggestion made that Bud Adams is controlling the Adam Jones transaction himself in order to spite Jerry Jones is probably true.

Fisher is likely merely a pawn.

Bud Adams probably knows Tennessee is not going to get rich off a Pacman trade and considers the Dallas frustration at his increasing demands great fun -- worth it even if he has to cut the player later without compensation.

;)

I wouldnt change my offer they have. After seeing what happened to chris henry today, the titans have even less leverage.

If I were jones I would let the titans sit on the guy until they have to release him, he wants to only play in Dallas anyway so he will take Dallas offer when he is released in the summer anyway.

I wouldnt give them squat. And I dont think they will get squat because of the chances of him being just like chris henry.

The titans dont deserve jack. They are the idiots who drafted the guy, so it is there problem.

I would do a 5th and 6th...the 2009 pick conditional upon being REINSTATED by the NFL before the start of training camp.

I think you'd find the market a little more deep, maybe not by much though, if he were to simply be released rather than traded. You'd have a few other teams willing to deal with him if the deal was simply giving him a contract with lots of outs in it, rather than having to deal picks for him and do a new deal.

Agree on both points. I alluded to something similar a few days ago. Nothing wrong with being reasonable about it.

I think the Bonus money may be the major hold up at this point.

I think if Jerry gives up more then a fifth and a low conditional pick next year, he has given up TOO much.

I actually would think it would be smarter to give up a sixth or seventh rounder this year, and negotiate to give a conditional fourth or fifth next year depending on Pacman's performance on and off the field.

I would offer a 2009 4th round conditional pick...the condition he stays out of jail and on the roster for the entire season...if he does they get our 2009 4th.

Anything more is to much risk...
