Ok guys, hear me out before jumping on me, how about Keyshawn Johnson as WR?

Ok guys, it looks like we need a Vet WR, I know that this guy doesnt have deep speed, but how about seeing if Keyshawn Johnson wants to play WR for the Cowboys this year?

He should know the offense pretty good, all except for timing patterns. If you remember, the Cowboys tried to sign him 3 times before he signed with Carolina. Next, he is a player that plays with heart. That is needed in our locker room.

Why not put him at one flanker position, and T O at the other position, if Terry Glenn has season ending surgery.

I know Glenn said 2 options with 4 weeks and he wants to play, but sound like he will need to sit for like 6-8 weeks. So, why not resign Keyshawn if he still wants to play.

Pullin a guy out of the studio isn't my idea of, well, a good idea. There are a few #3 type guys around and that is, IMHO, what we will go after. If Glenn ends up being gone for the year, it's Crayton who will have to step up to #2. A speed guy at #3 like Az H would be my idea of an option.

Sam Hurd is gonna be just fine in TG's role. I have no fear about putting Sam out there... he won't be TG, but I think he might add another possesion type receiver to the mix with a lil more big play ability than will be expected.

I think he's gonna be ok... more than ok. I think Patrick alternates to the slot with TO... just a hunch.

wait wait wait

T.O is finally having a quiet season, and you want to stick Key in there?

Key and T.O.

The same T.O. that key was cut for? The same Key that wrote a book that included "get me the F$%$%$ ball?"

And this sounded like a good idea, even before we start adding in Key's retirment, and contracted by ESPN. Not to mention he probably hasn't hit the weights in over a year. Or the simple fact that, the only reason he came, is gone?(BP)

I've been thinking a little more about this.

I completely agree, lets get Keyshawn back. And while we are at it, lets get Parcells back as coach. Emmitt can be our RB (and cheerleading captain). Maybe call Aikman as backup QB, his experience can help teach Romo so much! We can steal Novacek from NBC, I don't even know the name of our current TE scrub. Finally, the cherry on top Kieth Olbermann can be our owner, Jerry has been meddling too much lately. Olbermann knows football in and out, he wont disappoint, i guarantee. Book it!

This is the formula for a championship.

But hey, we want to improve our team, not make it worse (and older).

If Glenn were going to be out for the year then I might be interested.

Reche Caldwell is a better option at this point as he was at least in TC an pre-season whereas Keyshawn hasn't played at all since last season.

I don't think we will be looking for a replacement right now if Glenn is really going to be back in a couple of weeks. We will likely look for another WR but it would be a guy we just cut like Rector, that type of guy.

i like the idea b/c he'd bring in the kind of veteran leadership that can only help guys like Hurd/Austin, but I honestly don't think he and Owens (and their egos) can exist on the same team.

I think we need to see how things go... who knows, maybe one of them will take the opportunity to step up the way Colston did last year for the Saints

We need (must) find out what we have in Austin/Hurd before trading/signing a WR.

I completely respect what Keyshawn brought to the table while a Cowboy.

That said, don't you think it's time to find out what the kids have so the team can better assess their assets and liabilities in the WR area? The current situation is likely to lend itself to a comprehensive understanding of what's behind our aging, if not aged, starters - Owens and Glenn.

Let's don't put ourselves any further behind the 8-ball at WR than we already have.

I think Glenn will be back. He was ready to go and then tweeked his knee, but it doesn't sound like he tore anything and it's not a complication from his main surgery so those are all good signs. Hopefully we can fill in the holes and hope he comes back.

He is HUGE for us. His speed spread the defenses and prevents team from doubling TO. We really need to hope he comes back.

I just don't see Hurd or Austin ever amounting to anything special. I would like to see Crayton and Stanbeck with more opportunities. None of these guys, maybe Austin, is the deep ball threat that Terry Glenn is.

I'd take a chance on Jeremy Bloom, who the Eagles recently let go. He is fast as heck and would give us another kick/punt return option.

He could defintely stretch a defense, I'm just not sure he has the hands.

With Romo having either Jones or Barber in the backfield, TO and Witten as targets, whoever is the other WR should have the benefit of single coverage.
