Texas is playing with zero intensity.

Texas was starting to distance themselves from the OSU Cowboys early in the game but OSU has maintained a steady dose of chipping away at the lead and are now currently in position to tie it up at 28 points apiece. Man, I hope that UT isn't looking ahead to next week at Lubbock against the Red Raiders - that would spell disaster for them against a very talented OSU team.

Muschamp (UT's defensive coordinator) needs to get his front seven to do a better job getting pressure on their quarterback (Z. Robinson). Also, what the hell was the UT special teams thinking to kick that ball to Victor Johnson of the Cowboys? Twice they got burned for HUGE gains to put OSU in great field position. Dumb...dumb...and dumber...:bang2:

Thankfully, UT held them to a fg, maintaining their lead 28-24. Regardless, it's a great game.

2 things made this game a lot closer than it should have been.

1. Texas' D doing their best Cowboys D' impersonation with their tackling. I haven't seen such horrible tackling by a top team in a long time.

2. Colt McCoy had a bad second half. He threw an int (and had another negated by a penalty), fumbled, and had a man wide open on that last 4th and goal play, looked right at the guy, but didn't throw it. I know he was playing it safe, but if you have a man wide open in the endzone, throw it to him.

Texas is a lot better then OSU. A lot more the 4 points anyway.

I'd be happy with Quan Cosby as well. I said last year that Cosby was a better WR then Limas Sweed. I know Sweed had better numbers, but just watching them play it's obvious to me he was a better, more "complete" WR then Sweed. Sweed has the measurables (tall and fast) but Cosby runs better routes, has MUCH better hands, and just plays an overall smarter game then Sweed.

As great as Colt has been and he has been great, he made a couple bone headed plays in this one. Coach Boom was looking very ordinary in this game. I would have liked to see a bootleg on that last 4th down play. Overall my Horns are VERY lucky to still be undefeated.

IMO Colt is the best QB in the nation. And 2nd best isn't very close. Yes, better than Tebow.

He just had a poor game the second half. Happens to every player that has ever played the game.

He has a lot stronger arm than most people think.
I love my Horns and glad they won but I REALLY hate dink and dunk passing football. I miss good old fashion option football.

OSU is a VERY good team. Beating them regardless of score is great. Tech will be a scary game though as a UT fan, especially there at night, and with what Tech did today.

Man, you want to talk about a game being "too close for comfort"? Well, this one was it for Texas. Mistakes aside, I was glad to finally see UT's defense step up when the team needed them most. Every great team will experience at least one "hiccup" type of game in the season and UT is no exception. The thing is, however, they play like this next week against the Red Raiders and they'll be in for a rude awakening.

I expect the media machine to start hyping next week's matchup early and often. ABC will be broadcasting it in their primetime slot at 8:00 pm est. Texas will be on easy street if they can pull off the win for what has otherwise been the most difficult schedule in the NCAA this season. Congrats all-around to my fellow Longhorns/Dallas Cowboys friends here.

IMO, and the final replay angle showed it, Williams scored on 3rd down there in the final minute. His knees were still in the air when he stretched the ball over the goal. This is the same kind of thing that got Colt injured against KSU two years ago. Selvin Young scored on 3rd down, but the refs didn't credit him with the TD, and they didn't even review it. So on 4th down, Colt scores on a QB sneak, but gets his neck injured on the play. Had the officials got the call right or even used replay, the injury would have been avoided.

Also, on the drive where McCoy ran it in, McGee should have been credited for a TD. He didn't step out at the 3 like the refs called. I felt that one should have been replayed as well.

Now onto the Texas offense. Why do they keep using that same stupid running play? It is some kind of delayed sweep that is an all or nothing play. Why can't they just use the old counter play they used for Ricky Williams or Cedric Benson? Why can't they run up the middle instead of all of these stupid tosses and sweeps?

I was disappointed in the play of Bryant. I expected more from him today. I knew Pettigrew, Hunter, and Toston would play well....but I felt Bryant had a chance for a Manuel Johnson type game against us.

Colt's completion percentage sucked today.....well not really, but for Colt's standards it sucked. For this I blame the receivers, who dropped a good 4-5 passes that hit them right in their hands. Really, Colt only threw 4 bad passes: The 2nd incompletion, the Int that was negated by the roughing the passer penalty, the Int that counted, and the 4th down pass in the final minute.

Now bring on TT. The game will be in Lubbock, so TT should be more hyped up. I am picking Texas by 2 TDs.

Read on another board that his completion % was 83%, higher than his season average. Crazy, because like you said it didn't seem like it.
