Yea who would want a player who has run for 1,000 yards in 6 of his 7 NFL seasons and has missed 1 game his entire career. That would just be crazy.

*Looks up Chris Johnson 2014...*

I heard that Reggie White guy was pretty good at rushing the passer. Think we can get him?

We just landed 3 first round picks in 1 draft.

Why not just go ahead and give the Vikings a first rounder for Peterson.

We're fortunate to be in this situation and we could seriously capitalize on it even more.

4.3 YPC as a part of the 3rd best rushing attack in the league (in the first year he didn't run for 1,000 yards)... compared to Darren McFadden rushes for 3.4 YPC (same amount of carries btw) as a part of the worst rushing attack in the league. Yea, tell me again why we shouldn't dump McFaddens fat *** for Johnson?

My question is this:

Now that we have Collins, do Leary or Free become trade bait? Both are highly regarded. Heck Free's backup got $32 million and Leary is on a super friendly contract.

What RB could we get for Leary + next year's 2nd rounder? Would Minny do it?

Let's trade Free for Murray, now that Philly gave him the big bonus :)

They already said he was on their short list. He will be a Cowboy soon. Won't cost much. Might be the final piece.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to have more competition. Especially if they give him a short term contract a la McFadden.

I just wanted to post some stats about 2 running backs, 1 who is on our team now... 1 who might be... you tell me who you would rather have.

RB A ran for 4.3 YPC last year, RB B ran for 3.4 YPC last year (coincidentally they had exactly the same amount of carries)
RB A has never averaged less than 3.9 YPC in his career, RB B hasn't had more than 3.4 YPC his past 3 seasons
RB A has played at least 15 games every year, and 16 games in all but one year, RB B has played 16 games once in his career
RB A had 1,000 yards rushing in 6 of his 7 years, RB B has done that one year
RB A has fumbled the ball 15 times in roughly 1,900 carries, RB B has fumbled 17 times in 1,000 carries

Is their a comparison between these two guys? If RB A wants to join your team, do you not drop RB B for him? A lot of people around here are acting like it would be crazy to sign RB A and drop RB B... can you explain to me why that is?

RB A and AD had about the same amount of total yards in 2013 (ADs last full year), crazy aint it, when comparing the two the only year that AD had way more yards than A is 2012, pretty much every other year A had more yards than AD (or like 2013 15 fewer yards), and before you say "AD never has a QB" remind when did A ever have a QB? Now I am not trying to say that A is certainly better than AD, he certainly wasn't in 2012, but for a guy we could get for basically nothing... the differences aren't that much.

I think you have to ask those who brought it up before: Are we now one player away and is it AD?

Ok, this is not a new Adrian Peterson thread. Well, it kind of is, but that is not the point. Posting a poll to see where fans sit now in regards to AP.

Arguably, we have 4 studs now on the offensive line with really nice depth, almost great depth. I could argue that at least three back-ups would start on other teams.

If this line produces like we think they should, I think that any above-average RB could produce here. DMC and committee can and should be good enough for this season as long as this unit stays healthy.

I am more elated to the fact that Dallas now has a solid line for many, many years to come and will never have to spend big bucks on a RB again.

Dallas can bring on has-beens and second-chances now to run behind this line, they have that luxury. It even allows them to maybe move-up in next years draft if need be for that next cornerstone RB.

I have been in Adrian's corner to bring him here but I feel it is no longer needed. Now, if he falls into our lap for less money, then go get him. Otherwise, time to let it go and move on. This line is built for almost anyone to succeed behind them.

From the moment AP was brought into the Cowboys conversation, I have felt the Cowboys should pass on him. AP 5 years ago, I would be all for, but now a year removed from football, the draft picks that would likely be required, the size and length of contract he would demand, and the number of injuries he has had all stack up to make his acquisition a potential disaster for the Cowboys. Again, I'm still not confident in what the Cowboys have at the RB position, but I also am still passing on AP.

I don't think we need him so badly, at least not for the wrong price. Imagine if Dallas would have given a second rounder to Minn, bye to Gregory. The first three or fourth picks in the draft is where good teams are built.

At this point if you put anything past this management team then you're a fool. I'm done guessing what they are capable of.
