The biggest turnover of the game was Free allowing his guy to run right by him nearly untouched. T Fred nearly cost us another turnover by snapping the ball off his behind.

There were several VERY key plays worth pointing out. First drive of the game, LT Smith jumps early killing off the drive. Free wipes out a game changing 42 yard run with a holding penalty. (I do think this call was BS) Lastly, not directly related to the OL but the Escobar penalties were beyond costly.

These guys need to clean it up if we are going to make a deep playoff run. Dak once again would have had zero turnovers if he had good blocking throughout. Zeke would have gone for 150+ and a TD and we would have won by 2-3 TDs or more.

I feel they will get better and clean it up against the Giants.

How is it this team cant find a strictly run blocking TE in FA right now? Not buying it. Escobar doesnt run enough routes for me t believe this is impossible.

I don't disagree that Free has to play better in order for us to make a deep post season run, but they do pay the other guys too, and they are actually pretty good.

Tyron - Penalties, but otherwise dominated as per usual.
Leary - Picked up the wrong guy and let a free rusher come through and sack Dak.
T Fred - Uncharacteristic bad snap.
Martin - I didn't see any mistakes by him but who knows.
Free - Trash as usual, gave up I think 2 sacks, though the hold on him shouldn't have been called.

Hell, even Zeke, usually a great blocker botched a blitz pickup and had to hold to save Dak from getting smashed.

Overall it just wasn't a good game for blocking for us. I hope it was just because it was a tough road game against an elite defense playing the 3rd game in 11 days.

Anyone heard what Willie McGinest said on Total Access after the game? He said "I said since training camp, put your best DLineman on Free and he will get to the QB all the time" something to that context...

I am sure teams know this as well .. seems a weak link

Was Joe Looney playing some TE as an extra blocker on Free's side?

This is exactly why all the penalties were called against us. The NFL knew we would run away with it if the refs did not assist the Vikings in keeping the game close. The NFL is getting too much like the NBA for my taste.

Much of this is playing 3 games in 12 days. No team should ever have to do that. If you play on a Thursday, You absolutely need to have the immediate 10-day break.

I am just posting what he said. I don't think anyone is waiting, it is already in action. Like it or not, most false tarts out of of the 5 OLinemen come from Free, and most of the hold calls on the 5 OLinemen go against Free. Now I know they are not many, but flags, and cracks in the wall seem to mostly come from his spot.
I am not saying sit him to replace him .. just sort it out any way, shape, or form

The oline was atrocious last night, but I have zero doubt they'll be back next week.
