Those of us around during the Super Bowl and Championship runs from the late 70's until now understand the frustration of our beloved Cowboys being somewhat mediocre, even though we went 13-3 in 2007. Many lean years fell in between Super Bowl 12 & 13, and when Super Bowl 27 came along, we were reminded of our franchise's storied history. We were and will always be, Cowboys fans, some of the classiest fans around! So especially from you I ask for forgiveness. The Commanders-Cowboys rivalry was at its peak then, and for the younger fans, believe me when I say its NOT the same! The Cardinals' Russ Grimm, that hated Commanders lineman and Arizona offensive line coach would be the guy to get some toughness back on our team. I hated it when Norv left for Washington, but loyalties seem gone from the game, as we saw when Jerry not only brought in Bill Parcells, but let him bring in ex-Giants players to coach Cowboys players. Jerry will never allow this to happen again,(Grimm bringing in a bunch of former 'Skins), but remember, like Whisenhunt his head coach in Arizona, Grimm (who too interviewed for the Steelers job before Tomlin got it) is ready to be a head coach in this league too! So once again, please forgive me my Cowboys fans, brothers and sisters!!

I wouldn't be opposed to that at all. At least bring him in for an interview. He will be a HC someday in this league. We could use some of his toughness and attitude.

I'm 44yrs old so I know just what you're talking about and you're also correct about Grimm, he would be a damn good coach but, sorry I wouldn't want him. I go waaaaay back with the boys and could never see a ex Hog in charge of the Boyz. I understand where your coming from and I'm sure you also understand where I'm coming from as well.... :)

I wouldn't have a problem with Grimm here. It does 'feel' a little awkward though. And there are enough of us here who go back to the early 60s with the Boys. Calvin Hill played for the Skins and he's here as a Cowboy. Reeve's was a Giant and I'd love for him to coach here as an asst (isn't going to happen). If Grimm is an upgrade worthy of having here, I'd not let his heritage stop me.

What exactly has Grimm accomplished coaching? I realize he's on staff with the Cardinals but what else?

He has coached good offensive lines who's teams have run the ball successfully while in Pittsburgh. Arizona just shows flashes, but i believe were running the ball better as of late, and earlier in the season when Steve Hightower was starting.

Jerry hired a former Giants coach. How would Grimm be any different?

If IIRC our most beloved franchise figure was a Giant once too.

Heck, I'd take Grimm on. We need some toughness and accountability. I live here in Steeler's country, and this team is a band of brothers. No doubt about it.

It's sad really. Because the Cowboys once had that mystique. Today's present Cowboys have now become the new Hollywood franchise in the NFL. What's this new reality show with Michael Irvin and Jerry Jones all about... a no-name trying out to become the next Dallas Cowboy's long shot? Talk about a slap in the face to us die-hard fans who just want to see our Cowboys win another championship. Enough with trying to make headlines. Just go out and prove that you can win. Show some heart for once!!!

Now I have to listen to my in-laws brag about a possible 6th Championship for the Steelers. I sure hope Arizona has something for Pittsburgh.

Tom Landry was an "ex-Giant" coach AND player....................

Guess that should've been the No. 1 criteria as to his acceptability in Dallas or not!!! WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' EX-GIANTS 'ROUND HERE!!!!!!!

I don't care whoever is an "ex-whatever" or not. They get paid to do a job. If they can do it better then the current Key-Stone Kop Krew we got now, I say WHOSOEVER WILL MAY COME..........................

I just couldn't remember if he was a player or assistant coach....

I would have been correct either way, he was a cornerback then was a player coach, then was a defensive coach when Lombardi was the offensive coach for the NYG's.

He had a staggering 32 interceptions in 80 games.

If anyone was intersted.

Obviously not knowledge off the top of my head, I had to look at his wiki page.
