My blood pressure was at an all time high right before Neil O'Donnell threw the second interception to Larry Brown. I hate the Steelers and could not stomach another loss to them in a Super Bowl.

I was seeing blood red watching O'Donnell move down the field.

A season is filled with good and bad breaks. Had the Packers not upset the 49ers, I don't think a Switzer-led Cowboys team would have beaten San Francisco, which absolutely dusted us during the regular season and cracked the Cowboys sense of invincibility. Of course, I believe had Jimmy Johnson stayed, we would have been playing for our fourth consecutive Super Bowl victory going into Super Bowl 30. :(

San Fran wasn't good enough to beat us a 2nd time on the road. They weren't good enough to beat Green Bay at home no way they beat us if they had played us.

I hear ya. But I could never say least favorite.

Imagine of we lost. Sooooo many ramifications. Good lord.

One ramification would have been me going crazy. It was that close.

I would now be posting from some institution somewhere as 'Loco Cowboy' instead of 'WV Cowboy'.

I looked at my buddy who I was watching the game with, who hates the stoolers just like me, .. as the stoolers were driving, and I said, .. "It's happening again isn't it?"

I was certain that the tide had turned and they were going to score and we were going to lose the Super Bowl to the stoolers, ... AGAIN!

That thought crept in my head too, even though I was only 12 at the time. When Larry Brown picked o'Donnell off, I cheered as much as I ever had in my young fandom at that point.

Now, when we make that type of game clinching play in our next Super Bowl, I'll probably cheer harder. Nothing like a 20 year wait.

I echo that post.

I was like, no, no, no, no... Not afraid to admit full panic mode.

I remember the following like it was yesterday:

We were rolling them.
Imposing our will.
They were flustered.

52-17 from previous Super Bowl was getting a run for it's money.... Well in that direction anyway. 38-13 or so...

Then it happened. The clock struck midnight at the half.

O'Donnell throws those passes to who exactly?? I was just saying thank you thank you even it didn't look right.

After the game, Nate was getting yelled at by a steeler. Steeler was saying, we dominated you! Nate replied, look at the score. I laughed but knew what steeler was saying.

After losing to San Fran the year before I wanted this one as bad at sb27 and 28.

ODonnell saw Dallas showing blitz, he signaled out to the WR that it was a hot read, WR took off and Neil threw the ball where he expected his WR would be. He took the heat but WR screw up

That reminds me of the nonsensical " O'Donnell threw the game" comments I heard after that game.

You and me both brother. I was like what the.....? We fell flat after halftime.

You ain't kidding, I was there and the place was dominated by steeler fans with their damn towels, it was nerve racking to think they might go 0-3 against them in Super Bowls, such a relief when they pulled off the win

scary how fast time flies!

Yes seriously. As I said I was thrilled to see 3 SB in 4 years, I was happy to see the franchise get it's 5th overall but as a long time Cowboys fan to see this franchised dragged through the mud, it hurt.
I have always supported the team but what took place and what I feel was the beginning of the end, that sucked. Things would only get worse as Tunie dies from an overdose there was a lot of bad things taking place

I'm with you, scandals not withstanding, you could tell that time was on its last gasp and were a game saving catch by Kevin Williams away from losing to the 5-9 Giants and missing an opportunity for the bye which was absolutely essential for that tired and aging team. The 49ers loss in their last game brought the team back to life going into the last game against Az because winning would assure them the #1 seed. I really don't think that team wins it all without that 1st round bye.

I agree. The following season I believe trouncing the Vikimgs brought us alive again, but Irvin breaking his collarbone thwarted us that year.

Agreed.

But you could see how Joe blow could watch the play and replay and think that. It just looked soooooooo wrong.....

But felt sooooooo good.

I remember Bradshaw was hating on O'Donnell.

Check out the 20 and :50 seconds mark

1:20 mark for Doomsday101 ... Lol

If I'm not mistaken, had the Niners beat the Packers, the Cowboys would have played at San Francisco. They had the better record or the tie breaker.
