I like the moment in history when (cannot remember name now) of the defensive lineman threw that funeral wreath back into the RedStinks locker room after whipping those sissies! :lmao2:

Anyone remember that incident? Who was that, and do you remember the whole story around that?

That was the late, great Harvey Martin...

My favorite will always be when Dallas beat the Niners cleanly in the '92 NFC Championship Game at San Francisco. Afterwards, the entire world knew the Bills never stood a chance and Jimmie yelled those immortal words that are still used today, even with other teams fans using aping it for themselves

HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!

My favorite Cowboy moment will always be the 92 NFC Championship game when Alvin Harper took a slant over the middle to break the 49ers back.

Had they been forced to punt due to failing to convert on third down, it is more than possible that the game could have turned out differently.

The Aikman to Harper slant sealed the deal. I was relieved beyond belief and started celebrating.

The Walker trade was certainly one of the greatest moments, although it was not altogether clear at the time that it would turn out so well. Randy Galloway really didn't like it.

As far as the top on-the-field moments... In the regular season category, I would nominate Roger Staubach's final comeback victory, 35-34 against the Commanders. Not only did it clinch the NFC East and home field for the Cowboys, it eliminated the Commanders from the playoffs at the same time. What is not to like? Plus, you had Harvey Martin throwing the wreath in the Skins locker room after the game.

That's right! Thanks....

Didn't the RedStinks have that funeral wreath delivered to the Boyz prior to that game, and then after the Boyz won, that's when Martin threw it into their smelly lockerroom? :laugh2:

It's amazing how long the Cowboys have been humiliating those poor suckers! :laugh1:

YES!!! I have a hard time remebering being happier than I was watching Harper making that play. I call that play " the backbreaker" becuase thats exactly what it did to the Niners.

9/9/1985- Dallas 44 Washington 14- The Commanders again play Generals to the Cowboys' Globetrotters as Dallas intercepts six passes (five off of Joe Theismann- on his birthday) in a Monday Night massacre.

Greatest moments of "recent" Cowboy history:

1988 - drafting Michael Irvin
1989 - drafting Troy Aikman
1990 - drafting Emmitt Smith

Not in that order ... all equally important.

That is my favorite moment as well. You knew when Harper was running down the field that the Cowboys were going to the Super Bowl. God that was great.

Hey, remember earlier in that game when Kevin Smith got hurt and one of the worst Cowboys of all-time, Ike Holt, had to come in and cover Jerry Rice? For some reason the Cowboys blitzed two plays later, leaving the worst corner ever singled up on the greatest receiver ever, and Young hit him in stride for a long TD reception. Luckily, a questionable holding penalty saved us and we never saw Holt again.

It was questionable like WWF officiating is questionable. The OL took down Russell Maryland on that play.

This is the most exciting game I've ever watched in football. Sean Elliott's "Memorial Day Miracle", knowing he would need dialysis following the play-offs, was my greatest sports moment. But that game against Washington, with all the hatred, they needed to win to get into the play-offs, the two touchdowns in the last two minutes. Man, that was incredible!!!!

I remember it like it was yesterday.

Now JJ has us without a play-off victory in nearly a decade because he thinks he's a football man.

Rant over.

The first Super Bowl win...'Next Year's Champs' are finally the Champs after two Ice Bowl games, Super Bowl V and playoff losses to Cleveland.

For Bob Lilly, Mel Renfro, Chuck Howley, Landry and the rest of 'em that stuck through so many gutwrenching losses.

To put it in perspective, it's almost similar to Bill Cowher getting rid of his monkey after coming so close, so many times. Only for us, it was the entire franchise.

Sorry, I love the Cowboys but I can't be a homer. We got every single call in that game. The holding call on Maryland was similar to the one in this year's Super Bowl and there was that awful defensive holding call on Emmitt that gave the Cowboys a first down and eventually led to a TD. No offense, but if Dallas gets a call that goes there way, I admit it was a bad call but I'll take it everytime. Dallas got every call in that game. There's nothing wrong in admitting that. There are plenty of games when Dallas didn't have calls go their way. However, that wasn't one of the games. I suggest you pop in the tape and take a look at that holding call again. I'm not saying it was horrible but it sure as heck was questionable.
