the first two games and the fourth game will be good for Prescott to play a lot since romo only plays in parts of the second and third only.

Laugh now, cry later.

The idea that a late 4th round rookie is going to challenge an established probowl veteran QB is laughable.

I guess Tom Brady should be looking over his shoulder as well, I mean the Pats selected Jacoby Brissett in the 3rd round and with Brady missing the first 4 games of the year, Brissett might beat Brady out.

And what round did that "established probowl veteran QB" get drafted? They all have to start somewhere. Father time is undefeated so yes, even Brady will be replaced someday.

You didn't see anything in my post about how well we would do without Romo. I just think Romo's job isn't as secure as most think.

No no, I wasn't saying you were. that post just reminded me of that other guy saying Romo was basically going to be replaced.
I won't be opposed to seeing Dak somehow play above his head and supplant Tony.

In a couple years, most likely... If at all.

One of the things that I am most excited about due to drafting Elliot and Prescott is that preseason games will be even more interesting to watch and support during those games. While everyone has their favorite rookies and underdogs to watch, being able to watch players like Elliot and Prescott will make preseason games a little more enjoyable than usual.

I'll be more interested in watching Collins, Tapper, Frazier, Brown, and Jackson. I would really like to see them make the team and actually play significant roles during the season.

How about Chaz Green? Basically a new pick for us!

Boom. Great point. & I will be in LA attending our 1st preseason game vs the Rams. Dak should get plenty of PT in that game.

I wonder how it will go with the QB's. The fact that Moore seems to be the backup by default, wouldn't he be the one getting a lot of starts in pre-season ? Think Dak will sit and learn to start with. Romo will get his usual reps. or maybe less to preserve his clavicle.

Our preseason games are pretty painful to watch because we have not been interesting at backup QB at all. My fear is we do not have a legit backup QB currently. Although, I am interested in seeing these guys. I am interested in Prescott. I am interested to see Moore again. I am even interested to see if Showers has improved. He played very little last preseason, but I was intrigued by him. I think it is a long shot he is a backup NFL QB but I find him interesting to see if he progressed being on the practice squad this year.

Like last year?

Why yes, I expect Dak to take over.... Make all those adjustments at the LOS like Romo does, and yet we miss a beat...... Think about that! It took a perfect Romo in '14 to carry to momentum-isn' t that ALOT to throw on a rook & expect the same? Especially coming from a spread?

Hence my optimization

Don't rightly care to be entertained in August. All I want is a fully healthy team come the first week in September.

Yeah, i hope they dont overuse him in preseason. I want him 100 percent come time the games matter.

I'm not convinced Romo is still all that. He was an interception machine the last time we saw him play.

I was thinking exactly that the other day. When the backups come into the first preseason game, the excitement will just be getting cranked up.

Unless Elliott is running first team at that point, which is a possibility. In that case, Prescott alone will be enough to get me excited once the starters are done.

Let's put the anointment oil away....... That just isn't happening unless drastic things happen

Aww crap man! I just spilled the whole bottle on Dak right before I read your post. I also just said Bill Parcells three times into a mirror and scratched a Dak Prescott rookie card with a severed chicken foot.

I'm afraid that the powers that be have already set Prescott's pro bowl careen into motion.

Thats sorta my point....... Romo played damn near perfect in '14
For us to expect a rook QB to step in & be all that........ Is placing a lot of pressure & expectations on the young Dak
