Gotta give props to Sam Hurd for hustling back to recover the Kiwanuka fumble, that could have been points for the gints.:starspin

True, luck is a by product of hustle and if Hurd is not hustling back to the play G-men likely recover it.

Hurd's play was a UDFA play. Pure hustle. Playing for his job. He has no big contract, no shoe deal. He plays for his paycheck week to week. Not some guys that coast when the check is fat.

Did we go down and get any points off of that. I can't remember. Now that is bigger if so.

Sam Hurd is a player.

Yes, we went down and tied the score at 7. I just responded on another thread that this might have been the biggest play of the game. He had clear sailing to at least already be in FG range, and they might have scored a TD. Either way we are down 10-0, or 14-0, and who knows how the game might have gone. The way that crowd was energized, and the Giants were fired up it could have been a very different game.

We also left plenty of points on the field again. Both James and Glenn should have intercepted Eli on the tying drive. Tiki fumbles and the ball somehow ends up in a Giants hands. T.O. drops a sure 1st down in the red zone on 3rd down resulting in a field goal. Plenty of examples as to why the media, cowboy haters, and Giants fans need to accept defeat. Stop making excuses as to why the Giants lost. The Giants got beat and they didn't beat themselves.:D

That is right, could have really changed the way the game was played and the way plays were called. I thought we scored the TD after that, but just could not remember 100%. Thanks for the info.

Good point, notice lately how our late round picks or udfa like Romo are having a bigger positive impact on our team then our high picks like Carpenter, J. Jones, then theres the busts in J. Rodger, and S. Peterman.

My guess is maybe Jerry has more of a say in the top draft choices and we all know how good Jerry is at drafting, and maybe he lets the rest of the staff pick the lower round picks.

Just throwing it out there.

Hurd didn't cause the fumble, he just recovered it. Had the Giants recovered, they would have had the ball at their own 40. That wouldn't have guaranteed them any points. (On their next possession, they went 5 yards backward and punted.)

From the original post...

Did not see anyone saying he, Hurd, caused the fumble.

Kiwanuka = Leon Lett

Last week AND this week.

I thought the same thing when I seen him fumble that ball...plus with what happened last week.

Seems like a good young player that had some stupid moments ala Leon Lett.

You won't make it half way through the collection before you're sitting down and playin 'em.

It would only take one or two good hits over your head with the acrylic to lay you out and than I can play the guitars.

You obviously haven't had much experience whacking a Sicilian over the head.

Read the post to which I responded. Alan said Kiwanuka "had clear sailing into FG range," and the Giants would have scored on us. I was pointing out that the ball would have been at the 40. Kiwanuka fumbled on his own, and the ball would have been at the Giants' 40 no matter who recovered.
