One thing about today that I consider a big positive

We won this game without Julius Jones. Now there have been quite a few people who think JJ hasn't been playing as well or that he's struggled more than last year. But I don't agree. I think he's been doing terrific any time he's had a hole. Unfortunately our blocking hasn't been great. Today we went with a RB by committee and averaged a whopping 2.4 yards per carry over 38 rushes. Winning a game when you run 38 times and still don't break 100 yards as a team is no minor accomplishment. The Giants run D is not terrible, but nothing special IMO. If we had JJ I fully expect he would have run for more than 100 yards by himself. So in that light we played a pretty good game on offense, overcoming the loss of a major contributor like JJ.

Then on the other side of the ball, we played without Dat. Shanle seems to be playing well, but he's probably not as good as Dat or he'd be starting.

Nice baseless bash on Shanle.

Fact is our D has missed nothing in Dats absence in 2 big games if you need to do that.

How is it a baseless bash of Shanle? He's the backup and Dat is the starter. You assume the starter is better, that's not baseless - it's based on the fact that he's STARTING. If Bill felt that Shanle was better he'd be the starter already.

But here's the question

is it because WAre has been a bigger force, and our D has grown together getting immense pressure

or because the D stepped up without Dat knowing they had to make up for him being there.

Shanle is not bad, but he is not better than Dat, or Dat would have been traded. (remeber cockley)

He wasn't bashing anyone... merely saying that we were missing two starters and still won. Let go of your agenda's for a bit Nors.

The D may not have missed anything in Dat's absence... but I don't think it's gained anything in that absence either.

Show me where he did something to make them play better.

Did he get the sacks?

Did he get all the presure's

Did he knock down passes in the endzone

Did he stop TO?

Accept the fact that Dat is starting and Shanle will only start (like your boy Price) when somebody gets hurt.

I don't know if he's played stellar. I don't know enough about the D to be sure one way or the other. That's why I said he SEEMS to be playing well. But then again I'm not nearly as mental as you and I don't take the most innocuous comment as a knock on my pet theories. Nor will I defend those theories as if they are my children.

We almost gave up 5 yards per carry today on 19 carries. The only thing that saved our bacon was that the Giants fell in love with their passing attack and did not try to establish their running game.

Next week is going to be a problem without Dat playing Alexander - the Hawks will not let our questionable run D off the hook that easily.

I really hope Dat is back because we will really need him next week.

Dude - no need to call me mental - thats pushing the limit.

Its totally rationale to see that the D without Dat hasn't skipped a beat and Shanle replaced Dat.

Shanle is a player - SEE bp'S pc this week..... :starspin

I think it's pushing the limit on being mental when you take what I said, and accuse me of baseless bashing as a result of it. I said he seems to be playing well, but Dat is the starter... and you jumped into the thread with both feet looking for an argument. I'd say that sort of beligerence is kinda mental.

Keep the slander going! lol

Back to the topic - Shanle has filled in for DAT and our defense has not missed a beat. Inf act playing better without Dat and Shanle starting.

Shanle doesn't kick FGs and doesn't play on offense

we're 2-0 cuz we scored 33 points and JOse Cuervo kicked the game-winner, not because Shanle stepped in for Dat and played his part

So Shanle is the enitre defense now? Did he shut down the Eags? Did he shut down the Giants?

He has had 3 tackles and 1 assist in 2 weeks Shanle has NOTHING to do with how well the D is playing if Dat was there same thing would have happened although Dat would have probably had more tackles

Shanle has done a nice job, but you cant say that if dat were playing we would have went 1-1, or 0-2..... but i will say that shanle has played very well....

Dat averages 8 tackles a game - does Shanle do that? Nuff said.

Again - how many points has Shanle's army given up in 2 games? :)
