The unknown. Good OC's call plays around the talent they have, even Linehan did this with Stafford, Romo and Prescott.

We have no idea how they will perform with this QB or OL but it is safe to bet they will use #21 a lot.

The question I have since it's been rumored that the playbook is Garrett's is will they be using the same one or bringing their own which will mean some new patterns that the receivers will have to learn? The other question is how will the new OC use the best player on the offense? Elliott has yet to be maxed but we have seen glimpses of what an offensive force he could be.

The most interesting part of this will be once he's seen Prescott pass in practice and games, will he have an open playbook or some restraint?

The incoming OC will be calling for a team carried by it's D and that calls for not putting too much risk in the play calling. We assume the scoring average will rise but that is an unknown as well. They could be making a change only to remain the same. That has happened a lot in the NFL. It is still all about what the talent is capable of executing and how mistake free ball they can play to stay out of 3rd and long.

the most important aspect of play calling, imo, is the ability to create mismatches against the opposing defense. it's as much creating innovative plays for your team as it is recognizing and exploiting weaknesses on the opposing team. and of course, as jimmy would say, getting the ball in the hands of your playmakers.

They are not African American, Hispanic American, or Asian American? None has been a head Coach on any level.

Most likely play calling is limited with Our qb weaknesses. I wasn’t attached to Linehan but he’s just another casualty with the Dak attack.
This is the truth.

Dak can't run KC's or New Orleans' offense. Just because you call it doesn't mean your QB can do it.

Mahomes or Brees can run any offense, including Linehan's, and score at will.

Is JG capable of learning a playbook that has more than 3 pages? Because hie playbook is very limited from what I can tell.

After last season was over the Joneses gave Linehan Full control over the offense. He was free to use his own playbook/scheme.

If they hire an outside OC he will not be tied to Garrett's scheme.

They hired Linehan because the Joneses were Not satisfied with Garrett as the OC.

In February of 2018 the Joneses gave Linehan Full control over the offense and basically told Garrett to stay out of the offense. They even coaching changes and player changes in part due to feedback from Linehan.

The Joneses are obviously Not satisfied with Garrett in regards to Xs and Os. Jerry calls him a walk-around Head Coach which is Jerry-Speak for a Head Coach that does not run either the offense or defense.

It seems that they specifically want to move away from the Garrett style offense.

No OC coach including the new one we have coming in can excel when you have # 4 leading the charge....we will still be a offense that depends on what #21 will do.....

I think Dak could run the Rams offense, from the video breakdown I saw of it. Apparently the receivers all end up in the same quadrant eventually, so Goff doesn't really have to go through progressions. He just looks in that area of the field and throws to the open man. That breakdown may be an oversimplification, but the concept seems pretty solid.

Nobody is really talking about Jeff Scott from Clemson. He's interesting.

Im pretty sure daddy will tell Garrett his playbook is about to take on significant changes. I know (hope) JJ/SJ didn't just fire Linehan so they could run the same crap.

I said it before in a very short lived post. They like Garrett for Monday-Saturday. I expect the new coordinator will install his own offense, although it will still have some of Garrett's stamp on it.
