One thing I fear about DET, is their coach has no fear on 4th downs!

You know how Campbell is, he's going to go for it on 4th downs, is he always successful in the attempts, no, but the other times he is. Just the fact that they go for it all the time, we have to be ready to combat whatever they throw at us on these downs. What in your mind can we do to stop them on 4th down, or dare I say make sure we keep them at 4th and 9+ so at least they think about punting!

Every time they line up, I sweat perfucely!! please give your thoughts!!

He has hurt his team many times going for it on 4th down as well.

Yes you might extend a drive, but if you fail, you may take points off the board, you may give up field position, but you absolutely give the opposing team the ball and a massive shot of momentum

He will absolutely go for it a few times on Thursday. Just be ready to celebrate when our D gets the ball back and the momentum comes back in our favor

We owe Detroit a good beatdown. Goff is the least mobile QB we have faced in a while and his OL and skill position players are banged up. Looking fwd to Quinnen and Co making him hate life

Hope our DTs get to feast. They tried to catch the turkey on Thanksgiving but he kept flying away, so the offense got the bird.

He also has no rational either.

QWs not gonna put up with that all day, and I expect to have them in some bad down and distance scenarios if we can get to Goff like MIcah did last week. I expect Dallas wears them down on both sides of the ball and dominates TOP.

I mean it definitely can cost them too. Definitely a reason they dropped a couple more games.

It’s cost him a lot this year. Detroit media has been blasting him on several occasions.

The Detroit Lions' 2025 season 4th down conversion rate is 52.0%, with the team converting 13 out of 25 attempts. Recent Performance: The team has failed on its last seven fourth-down attempts. Despite a recent streak of failed conversions, Campbell maintains that the team's aggressive fourth-down strategy will not change.

There are at 50% success rate this year. Plus they are no longer fooling anyone. No one is surprised when he decides to go on 4th down and every team expects some dumb trick play.

Much depends on the safety of the circumstances at the time. If it's a very short distance, the chances of getting a 1st down are good. If not the chances of success diminish according to the distance needed for a 1st down and the wisdom of the call to come. Of course, the longer the distance, the greater the risk of failure and turning the ball over to the opposition.

We have good DTs at this point in time, so the chance of success should improve accordingly if a very short run is the call. Ordinarily, I'd trust Shotty to have a good idea as to what to do and how to go about it properly. It's always a gamble, so it'd be foolish to routinely anticipate a sure thing. If the first down is desperately needed to win, a bold play call is usually likely to occur with little time left in the game.

They’ve lost several games by being atupid on 4th down. They’ll pass us points and lose momentum . DC hasn’t figured out the difference between being aggressive and unwise. I’m not worried about 4th down I’m more concerned about their explosive running backs. But I feel Q and company will contain it.

They should be worried and seating because they just lost a CB and they’re going against a red hot Dak, Pickens and Lamb. I just hope we remember what happened last year. I hope Sam remembers and drops 50 on them.

Yeah, I always hate it when he opponent goes for it. It’s like “we already made the stop!”
Especially if it’s like 3rd and 2 and they get a yard and they go for it. It’s always like an emotional letdown they’re not getting off the field. I think the last 2 games against mobile QBs was more challenging. This week against Goff he’s less likely to be a threat to run on a 4th and short.

Goff is a immobile QB and he seems to fold under pressure. His oline is injured. So its an advantage for our defense.

You're right but there's nothing like getting excited after a turnover on downs or turnover and the offense doesn't capitalize

Keep that trend going against us please!! Id expect to see diggs though playing 12 yards off on 4th and 3

We are relying a lot on these DT I hear you, but they can't do it alone
