Did we really interview him for real is the question........and I was so fooled to think that interviewing Deion was legitimate.![]()

I like how Jerry takes Arlington Jonesboys money every season with air pudding and wind custard. He is a master marketer and business man.So, I had a thread ripping Jerry for how upset I am about the Texans situation and how I feel we should be better. However, I like to follow a negative thread with a positive thread.
One thing that I like that Jerry is doing is him being more proactive with the DC position. I like that he's interviewing coaches, and I like that there's a lot of good options. Honestly, to me, it looks like he's got some good lineups. Ohr, Leonhard (I'd love this), Morris (bad HC, but a damn good DC), Rex Ryan (out of the coaching game for a while, but he's good at defences), Whitecotton, and others? I'd love to see Flores and a few others on the list. However, I think this is good. I think Jerry is showing proactivity here.
I'm curious who we hire because I think that will be a signal of where we are going next. I hope that we will stay proactive and have an actual cohesive plan. I happen to think this team isn't as far from being competitive as it looks. I like what we've been building on the dt and nt spots. I love our offense (hopefully we can get our red zone efficiency better).
I think if we can get our defence sorted and get Aubrey back on track, this team can compete in 2026. I don't think it'll be SB caliber, but this is a big offseason that, if done correctly, can build us towards a great future. Or at least, I hope so.
One day you're going to realize that the reader wants to get to the MEAT and bones of a reply, not spend all day reading an entire book. You've got to really consider simmering it down so people can actually read your comments. I refuse to read all of this!!It was obvious why,
first of all,
a bunch of the other group that went elsewhere we were not bringing Kellen Moore back here nor would I have been on board with it, No one really wanted Pete Carrol,l but if you did look what happened ,I mean look what happened to Aaron Glenn.
So, we can take those out just by having hindsight, Obvious common sense says those were not good choices, most people were not on board with that and some of the other choices that were just rumors were Dieon and Witten etc
they were going to bring in a retread of some sort....
But the two we know that weren't coming here and it's obvious and I'm tired of hearing it how about they didn't interview them they did not interview Ben Johnson or Mike Vrable because they already made their choices before they even give any other team real opportunities those interviews if anything were just doing their due diligence or running up the number for the bears and for the patriots..
those guys were not coming to dallas, not because of jerry not because dallas is dallas ,they already made up their minds these were targets ,that were mutual that is where they were going....
Given all that information and knowing that,
I do not think Liam Cohen could have done a good job here, if he was forced to use Matt Eberflus And then knowing that what we know about the injuries and the trade of Parsons, and the death of one of our players,
literally I don't think anybody else could have done a better job Not with the exact scenarios that went down.
But Jerry hired Brian because he had one interview that was supposed to just be one of those. similar to Whitecotton you just kind of Making the guy feel better that that he wasn't lost giving him an opportunity, but the odds are neither one of them would have been hired...
But that changes sometimes, Interview one went so well,
all of a sudden he saw Brian as a candidate a real candidate, so he did his due diligence; he interviewed Pete Carroll; he interviewed lots of coaches that he worked with or under BS, other players including players on our own team, and all of them gave BS rave reviews.
The vote of confidence rose,
so he got a second interview and just blew Jerry's doors off with his ideas,
how can you blame Jerry with all the information we have now in hand both what happened to our team but also look at what others did in the hiring process and really I don't think it was that bad a choice.
I know people are really ripping him in that great BS first year saying he's not even a good head coach I don't think they realize how hard it would have been for any coach the coach in this scenario that we just had unravel this year.
There's nothing wrong to me of what went down he's not a bad head coach, but as an offensive coordinator ,and I believe he has all the confidence from his players he did well in media sessions, I think he did OK in game management, and whatnot with all his focus being broken with all the other problems, and the people he hired underneath him, and
his offensive staff, I just think Jerry did the right thing here Brian actually won the job he did not win a consolation prize because there was nobody left.
This year there are far more outside the box interviews yes there's some normal names in there that they plan to interview ex head coaches who used to be a DC were getting those interviews but they're also a handful of others and I think this process will work itself out and they will not hire Whitecotton unless they feel in the interviews that he is the best candidate..
I know another long-winded reply by me but I think it needs to be said people keep acting like we could have had Ben Johnson or Liam Cohen and they would have been better or look what Mike Vrables doing, no those they were never coming here ,and never going to have the same success...
I already eliminated the others by common sense. You look back at it with some perspective and keep the hate for Jerry Jones out of this and his past mistakes out of this I think he hired the right guy and in three years if it doesn't work out you start over again.
These were not the Raiders happen to spend $60 million in paying off contracts and firing the entire brand-new coaching staff ,
because it completely collapsed the draft and free agency did not work out and now you have some unhappy stars on the team there could be worse situations.....
I think there's a middle ground here.If I rip Jerry I'm a bad fan, if I give Jerry the benefit, it's wishful thinking.
To me, sure these are options that other teams may have, but at least this feels more proactive to me. This feels like he might actually be doing a proactive and thorough job. I'm curious who he ultimately hires.
I guess if Jerry used it to satisfy a certain requirement, it wasnt real.Did we really interview him for real is the question
Yeah but that's the thing He had his focus so split worried about the defense that it affected his play calling and his game management as far as trying to protect the defense so much that he was doing some things he normally would not have been doing so he gets a pass this year but you're right they need to develop a better red zone play call list better designs etc
The other problem we found in a bunch of games is here where the tackles not blocking long enough for plays that need more developing and creativity you can't wait on those They weren't blocking long enough prescott's already running the wrong way the play was supposed to probably go to the left side now he's running to his right can't throw back against your body and now it pretty much ruined the play and now you're off script a lot in the red zone well all over but the same problems popping up in the red zone it popped up all game they don't have enough time to throw and to do second level plays meaning you may have ran a bunch of slants now you want to do a slant and go but now there's not enough time to get that ball the guy even if he's open...
So he does get a pass this year I think he did a really good job as a head coach slash offensive coordinator with all the things he had to worry about and that happened along the way...
See if they get the defense to be at least mid you know average and do better and see now how this looks different or not..
I'm not a writer or a content creator nor is any of this my job, or I'm getting special points for,One day you're going to realize that the reader wants to get to the MEAT and bones of a reply, not spend all day reading an entire book. We all know why!!!! It's because he wears Cowboy hats!!I guess if Jerry used it to satisfy a certain requirement, it wasnt real.
Anyone remember the old Chris Rock bit about wanting credit for what you 'posed to be doing in the first place?
You're setting yourself up for disappointment again. Rather than pine for what you wish for reality, just accept reality. Jerry deserves no praise, and this is all likely an act before he hires Whitecotton. So, I had a thread ripping Jerry for how upset I am about the Texans situation and how I feel we should be better. I understand that you try to be positive and thumbs up for that.
Still a owner who is just doing whats normal in this situation is not good. Its what is to be expected and would be nad if he didnt.
Lets see how he will handle the decission. Will shotty be the one who can choose the canditate or will he, as always be forced to work with someone our big ego chose ofter looking deep into his mirror?
If shotty is alowed to choose then i will say that this is a positive sign.
I'm cautiously optimistic. It could be for show — at least somewhat. Whitecotton wouldn't surprise me.
I want the cowboys to feel fresh again , honestly this franchise feels like the dribble that comes out when you think you’re done peein

You like that he is doing what every other GM is doing? You like that he is finally doing his job?So, I had a thread ripping Jerry for how upset I am about the Texans situation and how I feel we should be better. However, I like to follow a negative thread with a positive thread.
