I sometimes find myself hating Jerry...the GM, the man, even loathing him.

But there is one thing Jerry always gives Cowboys nation: something to talk about. Something stupid, something odd or outrageous, something hopeful, many things gloomy. But with JJ, his Cowboys and big stay-jium there's always something to talk about. Something to debate, belittle, celebrate, shun or gawk-with-open-mouth about.

Salting that lame breakfast sandwich...you don't think that 78 year-old ******* knew he was jerking chains? He was playing with us yet again, laughing. Modern day Barnum and Bailey circus wizard delivers again. Its been twenty five years of broken football...but he keeps us all talking. Salty old fart. A perpetual vacation from the world...we get that here in the Cowboys magic kingdom...even if it is often Motel 6 dolled up with bright shiny colors. Something to be said for that.....

Without Jerry there would be so much less to analyze and belittle. With fewer failed seasons, our coroners skills might have stayed dormant. But with Jerry we are now trained workmen, laboring over pigskin cadavers like top pros. We vivisect our losing seasons like no others, with a smile and some good one-liners.

If you'd replaced Jerry's nonsense with a competent winning GM twenty years ago...Good news, right? No! You'd have to delete 3/4 of all the posts ever made at cowboyzone.com. It is in the stank and dour soil that the resistance movement has grown up, where posters like BobHaze and Risen Star have flourished and flowered into Fortune 500 industries.

Without JJ, the circus master....far more wins...but so much lost, like tears in the rain.

Your prose is far too sophisticated, serious, and eloquent for a bogan ringmaster performing cheap carny camera tricks. But well done!!! You might have the beginning of a novel there!

I think Jane Slater compared him to Walt Disney a couple years back. I think the comparison has some merit.

I will say this though…. Damn I am fatigued over every little detail being agonized and obsessed over. MM’s mojo moments, Dak’s shoulder, Zeke’s midsection…. Under JJ’s leadership everyone cares about (or hates) the Cowboys. I just wish we could care less about some of the stupid crap that gets overblown by every Charlie-$@@$-Around and HighSchoolHarry out there

I’d like to think most of us we see thru the publicity blitz. Which is interesting if you’re one of the more successful products.

Unfortunately without that success on the field which is really what most are concerned with it becomes more of an embarrassment.

Yah— I am on some of those sites regularly.

Above all— just a nice, refreshing cup of perspective on a regular basis gets me back to not giving a crap about some of the stupid minutiae the mediots throw out there for clicks.

The Cowboys are a circus show run by the King Clown Showman himself. I love JJ the business-man and enjoy the heart he brings to the franchise— but man, oh man, from an operations perspective he has been leaving smh for over 2 decades now

'Blogging The Boys' is the site I go to regularly. Fans cannot create topics on the main page like here at CZ - but they can sign in to comment on articles posted, along with responding directly to other members. They do have a couple of fans there that are not onboard with the QB...and they take every opportunity to make it known - no matter that the subject matter has nothing to do with the position. Some owner\GM bashing pops up now and then too.
