I the fall of 2007 I remember listening to The Lunch Break with Nick Eatmann and Derrick Eagleton and I believe it was Nick who stated that when Tony Romo was a rookie he played on Nick's flag football team. He said that Romo played great during the regular season but when they got the the Championship game he threw five interceptions and they lost the game to an inferior opponent. Flag Football!

That thought has never left my mind and it has been reinforced in most of his big games in the NFL. I'm really starting to doubt that Tony has the mental makeup to take us deep into the playoffs and on to the Super Bowl.

It's been documented that he had these problems in high school and college as well. It's possible that the big game moments just get to him. *Shrugs* I'm a fan of his though so I'll wait till I can see the totality of his career before I decide he'll never win anything.

Romo plays about the same all around. The problem is the mistakes get amplified when we play another good team. He absolutely set himself on the road to throwing the game away with that third interception last night. There's no excuse for that. I had visions of that Ed Reed pick in the "Turn The Lights Off In This ***** Game". How many times does he have to make a mistake like that to know better?

I am believing more and more we have Danny White / Brett Favre type QB.
A gunslinger great stats guy, chokes under pressure.
Favre won his SB despite himself, had the team to help him win it.

I'm now of the opinion that he can't learn from his mistakes. He's started enough games to know that you can't turn the ball over in this league.Until I see him play 5 or 6 games without a boneheaded play i'm off the bandwagon.I can live with a pick or two that is the result of a good defensive play, but the freebies have got to stop.

I see the light now. Romo just needs to retire. He is obviously in over his head in this whole NFL gig and all.

I like Romo, as much as any Romo fan, but don't lump White in there with Romo just yet. I believe White did win some playoff games in his career.

And Favre, people love to say inspite of him, but if you'll actually bother to go check the year he had that year, and for about 3 years around that time, Favre wasn't hurting his team at all. His TD to INT ratio was darn good during that time.

In fact here you go. During the time the Packers were good, and making championship appearances (NFC Title games and Superbowls) these were Favres numbers.

1994 - (I believe they lost in the division round this season)

3,882 yards 33 TDs and only 14 picks - Thats an NFL MVP type season.

1995- (Made the NFC Championship Game and had Greenbay in it for the majority of the game)

4,413 yards 38 TDs and 13 INTs. That was an NFL MVP season.

1996- (Won the Superbowl)

3,899 yards 39 TDs, 13 INTs. Had 3 TDs in the Superbowl win (2 passing and 1 running). I believe he won NFL MVP that season as well.

1997- (Made the Superbowl)

3,867 yards 35 TDs and 16 INTs. Won his 3rd consecutive NFL MVP award (I think he and barry sanders shared the award that year) (I can't remember, for sure, but I think Holmgren left after this season, might have been after the 1998 season though. Really can't recall when he went to Seattle now)

None the less that's a 4 year stretch when he was just flat out good. So anyone thinking they won inspite of him during their run is a complete Favre hater, which I understand is popular now days, or just plain stupid.
