Wow, this guy is lucky! This guy is shooting a .50 cal. Watch the dust when he fires. The target is a steel plate 1,000 yards away. You can hear the ping of the hit. The bullet comes back and hits the ground just in front of his position then tumbles up, hitting the earmuffs, knocking them off his head. The footage is amazing. You can hear the bullet as it tumbles through the air on its course back toward the shooter. He's lucky it hit the dirt first. The bullet grazed his temple. What a difference a half inch makes!

:laugh2:

I have to question the legitimacy of that video. Seems like anyone shooting such a fine firearm would be smart enough to protect themselves more than that. Were they shooting at a steel plate that was exactly 90 degrees to the ground? That's real smart.

The trajectory of the ricocheted round seem a little extreme too. It ricochets a quarter mile, hits the ground 15 feet in front of him and then bounces up that high? Odd. Not impossible, but odd.

rocks is one possibility

the ground seemed flat but one little dip could be enough

and the bullet hit a steel plate at the other end so the bullet is most likely deformed which could effect the trajectory quite a bit

also you dont know if the target is on the ground level with the shooter or if it was nestled in a hill slightly above him. 5 degrees up or down over a total of a half mile can be huge

But we do know the guy is an idiot for not having some type of cover while firing a high caliber weapon.
