Expected a little better on O and not quite as good on D.

I will take it any day though. The offense is going to be ok... the defense I worried about and the early returns are favorable.

McClain far exceeded what I expected from him. He is a beast in the middle.

The niners could have had a lot more offense. They knew they had the Cowboys beat and were more concerned with the game clock.

Rolando will still have some rough days... but he is STRONG at the point of attack. He blasted some 9'ers yesterday... both runners and lead blockers.

The slant was open all day, and they did what they wanted on third down. Let's not get carried away with defensive achievement yet (although I will grant them that they played a certain way just to limit Kaepernick.

If the team had any clue whatsoever how to drop into zone coverage, this could potentially be a 15-20th ranked defense which would've shocked everyone during preseason.

All those are merely statistical lies...and the real judgment is by sanction of the burn barrel buddies. And no appeal from that process!!

I guess there was more metal in the game than final score, this time...lol. A 28-3 first half does tend to warp perceptions.

Outside of the turnovers, we outplayed them for much of the game. When we had to abandon a real game plan, things got sketchy.

I'm not trying to claim a moral victory by any means. I'm just trying to predict our future play. I don't predict that kind of turnover debauchery going forward, but the actual play was not bad. That said, the secondary is ridiculously bad, but we all expected that.

Hey CC, there were some positives on the D side of the ball. They were put in a bad situation. Nothing to be disappointed about IMO, all things considered.

The idea those stats have any meaning at all on defense, considering the 9ers took their foot off the gas in the second half is amazing. Now toss in the flag-a-thon which stalled out a drive headed for more points in the 4th and these stats may go down in the Guinness Book of World Records for setting the most absurd circumstance in sports to be happy.

Like you said it's only week one rankings don't mean anything after just one game. I can assure you by the end of the season those defensive rankings will look very different.

i might be the only one who had reservations about this offense especially romo,his passes had nothing in pre season either.just comparing Kaepernick's laser throws to romo's floaters was just sad.
